Guilty. Lol

I'll be getting one of your 8pt cages when I get back in town at the first Of the year.

Chromoly vs mild steel in a 8.50 legal cage is usually about 20 pounds difference. A mild steel roll bar/cage can be MIG or TIG welded, anything chromoly has to be TIG welded only.
I thought to be 8.50 legal, you had to have a window net? How can you have a net with a 8point cage? I have a 6point im trying to convert to a 8.50 legal cage.

Midwest Chassis doesn't Count the number of bars in the cage as how many "points" it is. Instead they Count how many attachment points to the body they have.
Considering the A pillar bars, and door bars intersect each other at the floor, each side is only considered one attachment point,
(2)a pillar
Door bars
(2) main hoop
(2) kicker braces from main hoop to drivetrain hump
(2) rear bars going to the hatch area

It's the same amount of bars as Wolfe or s&w have in their "10" point

If you have a 6 point "roll bar" you will need the short diagonals off the main hoop, the halo, and the a-pillar bars to be 8.50 legal. This will constitute then for a "roll cage"

A net is usually required at 9.99 or if your car requires a full cage(8.50 legal or more).

A roll cage and a roll bar are completely different. They can both be 8(or even 6) point, the cage will have the halo and a-pillar bars and will be 8.50 legal then. An 8(or 6)point "roll bar" will not have the halo or pillar bars and only be 10.0 legal. All roll cages/cars 9.99 and quicker must be certified, and the operator is required to have a competition license.

Are t-tops still function with a 10 point? Or would just getting a targa top and leaving it in place be my other route?

T tops are still functional with the MWC full cage. The halo is bent to follow the roof line tight, not hang low, and the latch lever still works just fine!

That looks great! Couple questions. Do you have to remove or pull anything out of the dash first before doing this? Does the windshield have to come out? Also did you guys install that carpet back in after doing the bar? I just did the carpet in my 2nd gen Camaro after doing the cage and with the kicker bars and everything it was a nightmare! Thanks!!

When I called Spohn for my 10point cage, the person that answered the phone which whos name I do not remember told me that nothing has to be done to the dash when installing the roll cage, that is if you buy a over the dash cage. As far as carpet its recommended to remove it, if you just put your carpet then your gonna have to do some cutting to install the cage, I was planning on installing new carpet but I decided to order my cage and get it installed before I put in new carpet winshield shouldnt have to be removed to install the cage.

I think he was meaning is there anything under the plastic piece it goes that needs to be moved or anything like that and if they would put the carpet back in for him after the install if im not mistaken. Thats how I took it anyways.

But op... Do you still have a backseat? If so how hard is it for people to get in and out and did you go with swing outs?

I havent installed it yet. Carpet is removed and all seats with headliner is also removed. I dont know how to Tig weld soo my tuner/builder will do all the welding for me. As I seen all the parts the back seat will be able to stay on and no modification to the dash nor winshield will be required.

Yes, I even think they do low slung side bars but those can't be registered for an nhra class. Mainly for comfort and to shut up local tracks.
