Hi all,
I have a 1998 ls1 a4 t/a with 2.73's that is my dd and will remain very streetable. I just want to get in the 12's with as little mods as possible. I ran 13.8@102 with k&n filter and couple free mods. I want to keep it quiet so I was thinking an exhaust cutout, 3.42 diff and a stall. And Tune if course. I have a lid and ftra kit already. Will 3.42 be a huge gain over 2.73's? Or would 2.73's work ok with a stall? The car is a turd down low. Any input would be great!

I want a smaller stall 2800-3200 maybe. Ls6 intake and headers add up and I don't really wanna mess with exhaust yet. I want it quiet like it is stock. Except for when I go to the track or street race. I figured the stall and a 3.42 gear cuz its easy for me to get and cheap. And a tune for the ftra and gears and to wake up the auto some

LS6 intake can be had for $300. Thats cheaper then gears or a stall. Gears don't really matter too much yet. Don't be afraid to go big on your stall. If you're afraid of 4k go 3500-3600 for sure.

They completely streetable? Like stock? I thought bout using a 3400 I have in my vette and gettin a bigger one for it. Intake more gain than a stall or gears? I have $275 in my 3400 and would have maybe $100 in the 3.42's

$100 for gears? Who's installing them? And IMHO you get what you pay for with a converter. Yank, FTI, Circle D...those are the ones you need to look at.

Your vette stall will not transfer over and work in the F-body.

At the very least throw a LS6 intake on it and port and polish your TB, until you figure out what you want to do with the converter. $300 for the intake and I would guess at most $75 to have your TB done if you don't want to mess with it yourself.
