Default Tire size advice

I recently had my car tuned and the majority of the power is top end. I currently have MT ET Streets 275/60/r15 and they are too tall. I have 4:10's and I'm shifting into 4th right before I hit the quarter mile mark.
I'm in the market for new tires, and any tire size suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was assume this is a 6 speed car? I would probably go to a 4.56 before I went back down to a 26" tire if thats the case.

You could always go down to a 275/50/15 if thats the route you want to go.

Yes, it's a 6-speed. Sorry I didn't clarify. I really don't have the time or money to change the gears again and the tires on my car now are pretty much done. Ideally, I want to hit the quarter mile mark at the top of 4th and I'm just trying to figure out what size tire will allow me to do that.

Oh yeah? I had the ET Streets for 4 seasons now and never had an issue with them. Plus I kind of need them though since I don't have a trailer and have to drive to the track. Why don't they work well?

No, he does have the Radials.

If you don't have a trailer then you DEFIANTLY shouldn't have those ET Radials on your car, because unless you have a built 12 bolt or 9" it will break one of these days with that tire. The radial design works better on auto cars that can load the suspension. Stick shift cars shock the tires upon launch too hard to make good use of the radial in most cases. 99% of the time stick shift cars are faster on bias plys. I'd look into a set of 26x11.5-15 ET Streets or Hoosier QTPs. FYI I drive a hour to my cottage every weekend on full slicks. They're no different rubber compound wise than the radials, so I don't know why you think you have to have the radials for driving to the track.

The et street (non radial) is a street legal slick. I just run full blown slicks which are illegal but like manu illegal things (no front plate, tint, ect)as long as you're not driving like a fuckwad having a reason to get pulled over the police wont bother you.

How are they in the rain? I got caught a couple times and was glad I had some kind of radial back there.

I'm trying to avoid messing around with new gears. I was really hoping tires would solve my problem.
