Default What is a realistic 60' foot time to expect? Best so far is 1.35 on a 200 shot!

94' Camaro
383 stroker motor
T 350 trans
2800-3000 stall
3.90 gears in 12 bolt
28/10.5 - MT CO7 Slick (Would like to try a DR sooner than later)
Race weight with me in it - 3400lbs
Cage
Motor prob makes 500
SJ - Steve Johnson plate system
NOS - 200 shot
BMR TA, LCA, relo brackets, PHB and Spohn Drag Bar, SF connectors
TA is mounted in second hole from bottom of TA Relo cross-member bracket
PAngle is about -3
K-member for traditional SB w/ factory location
Strange front shocks (SA)
AFCO DA rear (new)
Rear spring is eibach lowering spring - Ok or thoughts????

So here is the deal if I can get some input / help!
Since I went from a 150 shot of NOS to 200, the car is just struggling. Went 1.35 60' on the 150 shot and ran a best time of 6.25 @ 108. Since going to a 200 shot, the car was hitting the tire so hard it was bouncing back up and unloading the tires. I since purchased the DA AFCO's - $600 dollars later, I went to the track and finally made a good pass, but had to drop the bottle pressure to 850. Went 1.35 60' / 6.20 @ 111. Tried to go up on the bottle pressure and hazed the tires a bit - 1.39 60' / 6.26 1/8 - ran it through the 1/4 just to see what she would do and it went 9.85 @ 134!!! Was awesome!!! I know the car has some more opportunity in the 60' foot, which will hopefully get me in the 6.teens!!! Thoughts???

Thanks - Jim

I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much.... reading most post, people would love to get down into the 1.35 60' foot mark.

Anyone out there running DA AFCO's????????? If so, what are your settings for C & R from full stiff? That's the new way they say to do it.

Seems like good a 60' to me. You could go bigger on the stall.

More converter. Not sure what you're looking at doing for weight reduction tion but it's always easier to move a lighter car.

Add a progressive controller to soften the hit?

1.3's are definitely good, I would say 2400-3600 stall depending on the cam you have.

I'm about to hit the road, but I've always heard that on the gas 'NOS', you should have a tight converter? I've got a victor jr intake on the car - had a air gap, but didn't want to spray more than a 100 shot with the duel plane intake. Thanks you all for the feedback!!

I want to recheck my p angle and how about shock settings - are any of you running DA AFCO's? I'm curious as to where you have them set both for slicks and DR's. The # from full stiff is what they told me to work off of.

Thanks! - Jim

What do you guys think???? I shift my motor at 6800... 5500 stall would be way to much IMO for a little stroker motor or any motor on Nitrous. My bro had a 436 with a 6400 stall on motor, but put about a 4500 in for NOS, which made since for a motor that you turn 7600, but not for 383 inches.

What's out there that is working for people that are running low 6's or high 5's in the 1/8? Which would obviously be deep in the 9's in the quarter since my 1/4 pass was 9.85 and the car on that pass went a 6.26.

Thanks!! Also - I hate to ask again, but are any of you guys that are running fast and putting down some 60's using AFCO DA's?

I appreciate the input - pos, neutral or negative!!!

Take a few degrees of timing out of it when the n2o comes on. It will soften the hit.

On the 200 shot, I'm taking 10 out from a total of 35 - plugs look good. I have a digital 6, so it all comes out when I give 12 volts to the solenoid and stays throughout the run.

Shifting at 6800 I would say a converter that stalls about 6000 on the bottle would be optimal.

Right now I race a naturally aspirated 70 Camaro. 434 small block. Has been 1.25 60' running 9.61 @ 135 in mineshaft air. Hughes converter stalls 6000.
