Default Need help on gear and tire size

Fixing to buy tires for the track and need to know if a 26" or 28" tire is what I need. Also I'm looking at a gear change. I currently have a 3.50 rear gear because I had originally planned on doing more street driving plus I had a smaller cam in mind when I bought the rear end. I was thinking either 3.73 or 3.89. Car is NA and should be putting 550hp to the ground maybe a little more. I haven't weighed the car yet but I'm shooting for 3000-3100 by the time I get it to the track.

If the car works like it should, and makes the power you're claiming, there's no reson it shouldn't trap close to 130mph, and have power at 7k rpm. If it were me, I'd probably go with a 3.89 and a 28". That will leave you with a little room just incase you do trap higher than I estimated.
In all honest I think you could get away with a 4.11 and a 28" tire tho.

I'll just be running an 1/8th mile track. Ok so just say if I went with a 26" tire what would be a good gear? How do you figure out what gear or tire you need anyway?

4.56's @ 1:1 Ratio roll through the traps around 7,200rpm @ 125mph on a 27.6" tire

Do you have a dyno sheet, you want to cross the stripe at more than power peak rpm.

No dyno sheet yet. Still something I have to do before I go to the track.
