Light seats make more difference than anything else you mentioned.

Yes, and light seats will be less than that. My TA seats had a small air compressor for the lumbar support, they were heavy. I can't think of anywhere else on the car you can save that much weight. Front K members and control arms are expensive and, if you weigh them, don't actually save that much weight. Since none seem to get the scrub radius right, they don't drive as well. The stock front end stuff is not all that heavy if you clean all the mud out of the cross member. :-) The crash bars in my doors were stamped channel. Under 3 lbs each including bolts. The front bumper is about 15 lbs max. I have not looked lately, but I have not seen so much false bull **** as on the "sticky" listing all the weights. If you believe the fuel tank weights, the plastic LS1 F body tank would be lighter than air. Swapping to one, according to that list it would be 18 lbs lighter, but an empty steel tank weighs less than that. LOL
Biggest bang is light seats.

Not all that much there. I didn't find over ten lbs. the AC evaporator is small, thin aluminum. Small gauge wire, and plastic ducting. These cars were built light. Seats & brakes are the big things. HVAC is next.

I saved 10lbs from the stock carpet by removing the extra padding on my z28.
Thats not even including the aluminum foil looking stuff.

I got 15lbs out with all the padding and the loosely placed padding. The passenger air bag was 10lbs with the bracket.

everything I posted in my build I weighted myself. Or found a pic of the part on the scale. Also noticed how much stuff is listed as more, lots of things listed -15 was only 6-7. The stripping the carpet thing, was way less then everyone said.

BTW today weighted one of the smaller new style gen4 (off a LSA) starter with both long bolts it was 6.4#'s My older 2001 LS1 gen3 starter (one long one short bolt) was 7.8#. So about 1.5 pounds lighter and smaller, and shorter = more header room, and oil pan room (LSnext). And eaier to work on overall. I plan I putting it on the car, it should work. Have to change the harness, the "S" terminal. Old is a stud/Oring, New in a wetherpack cip. or I htink you can just change the sol. off the motor.

little things like that are what add up.
The Kmeber is a bunch. LS1 stand BMR is 24.5, stock is 57 with stands. The is a few 4130 Kmebers under 20pounds too. Upper arms weight more or the same, but I tucked the front wheels in more so it looks better. And a setup some spacing shims in the rod ends so there not bound up and move super smooth, the shocks work better. Lower arms do save weight. My racecraft 4130 saved 7 pounds I think for the set. Not the best for $450-$500. Seats do add up, I posted what that was, each seat, rails, the belts, stock and aftermarket.I htink it was 33 over my lighter cloth camaro seats. pontiacs are more.

Things I have done so far

ADD an iron block
ADD an 80e
Add a procharger system.

things I have done to counter the additional weight

Removed Heat and A/C aka compressor condensor heater coil, ductwork air bag, the fan wheels and shroud and lines---free and sold some of the stuff.

Removed the seats/ 118 lbs as I mentioned. New seats weight 40 thats 78 lbs out for 800 ish dollars. (you can go lighter but I wanted nice seats that I could sit in for a few hours without my *** hurting. (corbea fx-1 pro)

MWC K member weighed 22 lbs which saved around 20-30ish lbs. 400 dollars

Removed the wipers and motor (didnt save but a few lbs at best) but free

Removed the ABS (had to buy an ABS delete from SJM)

Removed Cruise Control

The AIR and EGR are gone of course.

I plan on running a MWC 9 in the future with a carbon fiber driveshaft with afco shocks and some A arms. not sure how much that will save

going to run some billet specialty wheels or bogarts (lightweight) skinnies

Swap the carpet over to lightweight thin stuff

Swap my 50+ lb hood for a VFN fiberglass to save another 25-30lbs. (they make lighter ones 12lbs total that pin on instead of bolt on)

possibly swap the rear glass to lexan.

and both bumper supports will be swapped

ill pull the antenna motor and the rear speakers only and leave the fronts.

I am sure there are some things that can be hole sawed and some spot welds removed ect....

Shooting for 3300 for me in it which should be more than enough for 8's in the 1/4

I got 202 lbs out so far
302 lbs if you count the 100lbs I saved getting rid of heavy 315's and 17" rims and going with weld wheels and hoosier tires.

Check the last few pages here. I think I can still get out another 30-50 lbs's "free" before buying stuff: https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...-thread-3.html
