I've been trying to find the weight difference for the street/strip setup. I've read that its about 38lbs savings with their race version. I'd like to hope the street version saves atleast 20lbs

From what I understand if I do a LS brake conversion on my LT1 car it saves about 10# over my junk that doesn't stop for crap anyway. If there are ways to make it lighter yet it's even more of a bargain. Thanks for those that chime in with ideas, really, thank you.

You're lt rear brakes should be lighter. No built in drum on those like the ls brakes.
Ive drilled the hats on steel rotors between the lugs before to lighten them. Can be done on the rear also. Most wheels never touch there anyway.
Same can be done for the hub/axle

Yeah it's not the rear brakes I'm concerned with, my bad, I wasn't thinking and should've specified. I'll be swapping the front brakes for LS stuff or that's the plan anyway. I'd just like to further decrease weight on the front brakes if it's possible. Thanks. The front LT brakes are horrible much like the rear differential, all of it belongs on a Chevette instead of a Camaro.

You'd be amazed at what a set of stainless braided lines and some performance friction pads do for braking.
And although it seems weird to say.....but learning how to brake. This gentle slow down that most all do from high speed is wrong. It puts heat in the rotor and pad then it just glazes them. You have have to come it on the brakes hard and smooth. Get that initial speed knocked off....cause with that speed is heat. Utilize the rotor/pads initial coolness then it's not a struggle for it later in the braking run to be effective.

Interesting for sure, I'm honestly more interested in how to remove weight from the front brakes. Like, are you guys putting the rotors on a lathe and cutting material away? I was looking at the new set of slotted rotors I got the other day and there looks to be a ton of meat that could be cut away. I just want to be safe about it.
