Default ran the 1/8 last night, got a problem that i dont know where to start. help please

Mods- full bolt on,ms3 cam, built a4 w/ 4000 stall, lca's,adj panhard, 18" wheels on hoosier dr's, stock 10 bolt 3.23 gears. Problem- when the car hooks it looses all power and cuts out. Gauges drop like car shut of but it doesn't,let of gas and a few seconds later mash the gas and its good. Where do i start with this? Car runs great unless it hooks

Does the car still have ac? Mine did this when it hooked and the battery was shorting out on the ac. Make sure your battery can't move at all, you may have to make a better bracket to hold it

Is there a chance the belts are slipping when it dead hooks? With the old mt's it dead hooked and threw the belt and broke the idler pulley. Just trying to get every possible cause then go to work eliminating!

I'd bet the battery bracket thing on the bottom of the battery broke.
Happens to all the f-body's that leave hard.

I had to replace mine a month ago, Its part of the coolant overflow bottle, Ive seen them for about $30 on ebay. The hardest part is the metal inserts rubber sleeve. I just broke my old tank apart til I could get the grommit out

problem solved. drilled a hole in the factory hold down and got a piece of all thread and secured it with a lock nut underneath and put factory hold down back on. then got a adjustable battery hold down and secured it to the core support with a existing bolt. went out to a good spot by my house and heated up the tires real good, launched at 3000 and took of with no cutting out.(when i got home last night i went and did the same thing and it cut out so i know its fixed) only cost $8 and its a pretty clean looking install. man,i was worried! thanks again for info guys. back to the track this weekend to c what it does this weekend

my guess is your battery is loose and when you take off its shorting out as well. seen it before.
