Default exhaust

Would an exhaust system restrict flow enough to slow down on top end? Like 3-4mph and 1-2 tenths.

I had a slp lm with tsp 3" ory, with that set up I ran 93.90 mph 7.5 in the 1/8, I changed to a tsp true duels I am now running a 89.50 mph 7.7 in the 1/8, during the time I did the change I also had my converter tightened up a lol bit. So at 1st I thought that was what changed it but I've had it loosened up a lol bit not like it was but nothing changed their my 60'ft were still pretty close 1.7 to 1.6..........

So you slowed down 4mph in the 1/8th switching to true duals? I would think its more of a converter issue. Why did you have it tightened? It might 60' the same but what it does down track may be totally different.

It was way loose, I have nitrous on it and my tunner said it was blowing thru the converter, so I had it tightened up. Everything I've read and even the converter shop said that I should have gained more mph impunity lost. The only two other things I have done to the car is put a k/n ram air kit on it because I have a ultra z hood, I figured that would allow more air in than the slp lid, the other was changed my exhaust from slp lm with 3" ory to tsp true duels. I've read a couple post where they say the runnable bullets were real restrictive. Just looking for other opinions or experiences, thanks for any help or opinion

Here's an easy wsy to check, take the mufflers off and run it down the track. What brand are the mufflers?

Texas speed rumbler bullet, I'm starting to think it's the k&n cold air/ ram air kit. I billed the mufflers off and look thru them and a tennis ball would just about fall thru it. And might would I didn't have one to check it with. But I just don't see that being restrictive.

What are the fast track-only guys running?

I want to take off my 3" to 4" y-pipe and 4" mufflex cat back, and just run 18" collector extensions. Good or bad idea?

Definitely not the mufflers, guy who owns my old motor has been the similar times as me with that exhaust.
