Default Nitrous set ups ?

I'm thinking about installing a 100/150 shot on my car. My concerns are that I still want to stay on a 26 inch tire. My car has heads,cam,ss4000,and 3.73 in da'rear. Normally , I race in "D" running NA. I was wondering would I run in "Overdrive" if I were to spray my car ?

Also wondering would a progressive programmer be better than me just hitting the button in second gear ? I still have the stock rear and my car cuts 1.5's all day now NA. Thanks in advance .

whenever I raced my 4L60E I ran with the shifter in OD but the car never actually went into OD. Don't know if that was the correct way but I never hurt the trans or even had it rebuilt. If a progressive is in the budget then I'd go that route. It's nice being able to slowly ramp in the power especially when running on a less than stellar surface. The classes that allow progressives are always faster if they have similar rules/setups.

What rpm are you crossing the traps at now? What's the shift point and rev limiter set at?

My car is shifting at 6700 and rev is set at 6800. I have no idea what rpms the car is crossing the traps at ,but I know it wouldn't be enough to race my car in "D" with a 100 shot with those 26 inch tires I have on her.( ET Street DR's)

Yeah, that progressive controller does sounds nice. Like you said, slowly ramp the in the power thru the entire run. I'm doing more research on that progressive controller , but I'm sure it has it pros and cons with it too.

100 shot and it'll be close depending on converter slip.

10% slip = 128mph @6800
5% slip = 134mph @6800

Set the window switch @ 6750 and let it eat it

I don't see many cons besides user error. I'll always have one unless it's restricted by a class.

x2 on the controller.

I did some research on this already and it seems the bigger guys are using the elderbrock unit. It is a nice billit piece and quite cost effective around $500.

With the controller though....... you want to beable to feed the nitrous in yes, but at the same time feed the full 100% in as quickly as your setup will allow to maximise ets.
