Default Vfn 4.5 Hood install!

I'm trying to get some ideas on putting this hood on my car. What is everybody doing with there cowl panel? Trimming it back or leaving the plastic cover over the cowl? I don't want to leave it open like it is in the pictures.. Please help Thanks

I keep telling him it's to a big deal.

I was thinking about filling it with foam and adding a layer of fiberglass over it then sanding down. But I'm wanting to cut back to the firewall.

I'm gunna cut it when I get home for him unless he does summin dumb and cuts the hood first.
