It's definitely worth the wait with VFN. I got my bolt on Sunoco wide for my 93 last year. It was a 6 week wait then, but when issues came up, they were on top of it. And it fit great to boot! Still hasn't been painted, but it really doesn't bother me much. With as many products as they offer, I find it amazing they can have much in stock with the way people buy their hoods! Besides, hoods or hatches sitting on the shelf doesn't make money, so just like Strange and Moser they're built to order. While it can be a little bit of a wait, it's worth it IMO.

VFN should have like 5 of every hood sitting on the shelf at all times IMO, they obviously sell so why not. I've bought several hoods from VFN for my cars and customer cars, and love them, but there's been a couple times I needed a hood in a hurry and didn't have months to wait, and had to go with glasstek instead.

Being local to VFN has its advantages, like getting to meet them in person and seeing the facility. I'm honestly not surprised that there is always a wait. With how many products they produce, you have to realize they do more than just our cars. And on top of it, they make a batch and most, if not all of them are already sold. It's all about time management, and I think they do a great job of it. When I had mine made it was a 5 week wait, but then there were complications when I went to pick it up and they had a new one made within the week. You can't beat that mind of customer service! As the car gets faster and money is more available, I plan on having them make plenty of more parts for my car.
