Colonel,

Can you update/edit your original weight reduction list on your first post on page one with all of the additions that other people have contributed? It would make it easy to print out that way.

Thanks!

Yeah, I fattened the Z up 300 lbs to meet the weight requirement at the MMRA event which was 3200 lbs with driver. Slowed my *** down bigtime! Gotta get 'er headed back the other way now.

Pass the Slim Fast! <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

TTT

also, for the removal of the cruise control. i looked at everything, and one of the lines is for the throttle body. i guess i was looking at the wrong thing. anyone have a pic they can take/post to show me exactly what i need to do to remove the cruise control. also, what hardlines do you cut for the power steering to loop them together then?

Do you realize this thread is exactly one year old today at LS1Tech? I think I originally started this thread about 2 1/2 years ago over at LS1.chat.

Anybody ever thought of replacing the rear glass with the RKSport Sport Back?

I would imagine that the rear glass is heavy.

In fact, they have a whole kit that replaces all the windows in the car, and saves 64lbs. total. It's pretty pricey, as the rear window is $350, and the complete set is ~$1100.

George, it replaces all the windows except the front glass right? For some reaon I would thought it woulda been a little more than 64 lbs saved.

Lexan-$1100/64 = $17.19 per lb
K-member and A-arms-$820/45 = $18.22 lb

Looks like the lexan kit is actually cheaper per lb than the ever popular K-member/A-arms. But it's not weight from way up front.

Who makes a fiberglass hatch to go with a lexan rear window?

Just checked out Jeg's site. In complete kits they have...

Standard, uncoated Lexan. Pre-trimmed, unmolded 1/8''-thick. $489.99

Pre-trimmed, unmolded 1/8''-thick. $719.99

Pre-Molded 1/8''-thick. 1'' oversize to allow trimming for customized fit. $1089.99

What's the difference between coated and uncoated? Do you really need it to be coated? What's the difference between molded and unmolded?

...And does anyone make a kit (at least the rear glass) that looks pretty much like stock?

Isn't it illegal to replace the front glass on a street car?

Hell, I might as well start a whole new thread about this! <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

one thing i would watch if any of you did this is weight distribution...even though you are taking a lot of weight off from over the rear axle, it doesn't mean you wont be able to hook your car

but if your weight distribution changes with it for the bad....then you'll run into problems

just something to think about
