Is it not more respectable to run fast times with a car that has not been stripped, come on lets leave the stipping for speed to those "Ricers" who need to do it for decent times. We have real cars and don't really need to do this do we?

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
I have a 50 lb post scale and I weighed the rear seatbelts in my '98 z28
They are 3 lbs each
User manual = 1lb 2oz
The panel under the driver's seat where the rear hatch button goes = 2 lb 12oz
The mirror sun blockers = 2lb 6oz for both
intake silencer = 2lb 1oz
full windshield cleaner = ~ 10lb

I think I'm going to start a web page on geocities about weight saving information. I can acuratly weigh almost anything. First I have to finish some projects in my class but I'll start on it soon. I'll post up the url when it's ready.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
Lighweight bolts and washers, I'll add that to the list. Where do you get these titanium and aluminum pieces and about what do they cost?[/QB][/QUOTE]
have you tried a nut and bolt specialty shop in your area? a place here in the Dallas area called nuts and bolts and stuff carries titanium fasteners, but he said you should bring in the ones you want to replace to get an exact replacement. check your phone book for nuts & bolts, or fasteners, and call around. the better ones have 'em sittin on the shelf waiting for you.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
is removing the sound deadening under the carpet worth it?
does summit or anyone sell lightweight seats for a f body?
is weight reduction worth it if I only do:
remove front swaybar
remove spare tire & jack
remove sound deadening
get lighter battery
different seats??
add a cage!

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
I have the passenger side airbag on my list but I've been avoiding it by removing other things. I also bought some light weight seats. I've been trying to find out if there is an easy way to remove the airbag also.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
I finally starting on my weight reduction list. But...I gotta question. When you take out the bumper supports...I think I remember reading somewhere that you have to fabricate plastic ones to put in place of the metal ones. Is that true? If so, what parts did some of you use?
