you guys need to talk to some sprint car racers. i used to wrench on a guys car who raced in the world of outlaws (john bankston - beaumont tx). his car weighed 1040 lbs ready to race w/ gas and oil in it. oh yeah, it had 850hp

every single bolt you could find on the chassis was titanium w/ the head milled down and the center drilled out.

Another good way to lose weight in case you hadn't though about it (kind of obvious), is going true duals, du,p before the axle, and being able to get rid of the cat-back system. I bet you could shave off a good 30 pounds or so. Just thought i'd try and contribute to the list.

First thing I did was removed the spare tire and jack, I think you can shave 35 to 40 lbs. And then of course the back seats it's around 40 or 45 lbs.

You have to remove the locking washers that are between the foam and the metal support. After that, it's cake. The whole process shouldn't take more than a half hour.

Drop the front fascia, it'll save a headache.

When I went fomr an edlebrock cat back to SLP loudmouth I lost 21 pounds.

Current vehicle weight, 2900 EVEN! I had a helmet and a couple tools in the bird that day, so it should be under 2900's

the factory catback setup weighs around 55 lbs with hangers. The TSP true dual setup for example weighs in at 34. So thats another 21 lbs. It's not the cheapest way but for around 20 bucks per pound with more lowend tq you're good to go.

I dont know if the 4th gens ever came with plastic door handles (maybe on the m6) but you could always swap the metal to plastic for maybe another few lbs for the all out racer. But then again maybe im just on crack.

Oh, and the dome lights.

Actually, the TSP TD is much cheeper than replacing the cat-back and Y which is what that system replaces. And the total difference between a conventional Y-cat-back to a TSP is about a 40lbs difference or so. I went over this with another member who did this swap. I will see if I can find the thread.
