Default Any down sides to skinnies?

I know it sounds stupid. But I'm getting ready
to buy some 15x3.5 welds. I've never run
skinnies at the track. I should be in the 115-117
mph range. And here at Moroso they have a deadly
hairpin turn at the end of the track. I will
be driving to the track and home on these wheels,
only about 7 miles each way. and last but not least, This is the right size right?
15 x 3.5; 1.75''RS; 4.75''BC
and with the 5/16 spacers I wont need any grinding.

Unless you're planning on running the road-course portion of the track, you'll have no problems.

Your ABS light may come on. Your brakes may go in and out of "ice" mode when you hit the brakes after the lights.

Exercise caution, and you should be fine. I drive 100mi each way to the track with skinnies on.

Moroso's turnoff is much better than say Orlando!! Ever run there? It's like a 150 degree turn, and if you don't see it coming (night time racing) you can easily hit the wall at the end.

Oh by the way George, consider yourself warned

heck i make 200 plus mile trips on mine... keep them on 24/7 with no probs at all. other than you cant take turns 70ish when it says 45 lol....

it will take ya a couple days to get use to them... slap them on before you run at the track.. get a little use to how they handle... just ease around turns untill u get the hang off them... then they feel just like stock after a few

My car has had skinnies on it for 12,000 miles and two years.

Take corners really slow.

Torque the wheels regularly.

Avoid potholes.

I rode around on skinnies for months at a time; as long as you don't go 80mph on a turn you will be fine. They sure make running a shortbelt easier that those heavy 17" SS rims.

HeeHEe, you see the turn around at Cecil County.. it drops off about 20 feet into a 90 degree turn
