Lock up switch
Caution: If you don't have enough gear to run high in your rpm band through the traps, then you'll probably loose mile an hour!
Example: My stroker go's through the traps at 6000+. If I lock up the converter I gain 1 tenth and 1 mile an hour. If I had taller gearing then I would kill shift extension by locking up the converter, to early (while it's still in the extension). Each combo is different, gear, hp, torque converter stall/extension and weight are some of the veritables.

my name is Christopher Daniel Minnich and i own a '98 z28. you copying me? anyways, to help you out...
i was going 12.8's at 104mph, but when i lock it up at 5200 about(on the stock tach) in 3rd gear, i gained 2 tenths. went down to 12.6 @ 106mph, same day, one run after the other. good luck and hope this helps. i think that when you shift into third, the engine is bogging down with the low rpms from the gear drop.
