Default Maybe shooting for 10s soon

So to date my best pass is 11.46 @ 120 with a 1.7 60' and that spun just a little. The motor is "basically" stock, has full 3" exhaust, lid, tune, s60 w/ 3.73s & spool. Im also spraying a 150 shot! The car has a stock 6 speed with a Monster stg3 clutch.

I'm thinking if I can eliminate that spin off the line, lower my 60' to at least 1.5, and throw some skinnies on the front that should land me some where in the 10.90s. Also the tire Im running is an ET Pro @ 18psi.

Any extra input would be appreciated!

I've got street tires on my ZR1s. I run the MT ET Street Pros on a set of racestars. And I haven't tried a slick on this car yet. Just had some Nitto 555s that came on the wheels when i got them. Tried a buddys et pros and they did great. Main reason I didn't want a slick is I do run it on the street and I've hear slicks aren't to friendly on the highway.

If your able to get the radial tire to work, it's your best bet of getting a 10 sec pass. Going to a slick would be going backwards as long as you have traction under control.

Just pill the bitch up a bit.

I was throwing the idea around last night to pull more timing and slap 200 pills in it!

With a 6 speed a slick will help a lot. Radial will be difficult to hook, not impossible but going to need killer shocks $$.

Well I'm not sinking any money into shocks or springs just yet. Its on stock shocks and springs at the moment. I was pretty pleased to hit 11.4 with how it sits, I don't have my heart set on hitting 10s but it sure would be cool too in a 6 speed, full exhaust nitrous car!

your mph is about good for 11.0s. If you went 1.700 60 foot a 1.500 60 foot will put you running a time of 11.06. You will need at 175 pills I believe plus a 1.5 60 foot.

It's no doubt a good running car. Just need better 60ft that's the fun part with a m6.

Ok, that's why I said a "spare" set of wheels for the slicks

Can you explain why getting a slick would be a step backwards?

with a 1.7 60 ft time, i'm pretty sure a slick would help bring that number down

I said that a slick would be going backwards, only "if you have traction under control".

It's no secret that a radial tire is both quicker and faster if you can dead hook it.

You said that you had very little issues with spin. With no other changes (increased launch rpm included), the car would show slower with a slick. Now, if you wanna dump the clutch at 5500 with the spray on, slicks will be your best bet.

I didnt do much of a burn out on that 1.7 pass since I was just borrowing the tires from a friend to try them out. I launched it at about 4500 spraying right out of the hole
Im guessing if I heat the tires up a little more it should make a difference. I know a slick would knock off a mile and hour or two on the big end but think I can get these to work. I mean x275 guys use em at double and triple my hp!

They also have a chassis that works. You could have trouble hooking the 275 Pro with 350 horsepower if the chassis is garbage.

Yea, don't let anyone fool you. The guys blazing a trail on the radials are in true race cars. Also, those cars (generally speaking) can't make a pass on a track that is not prepped specifically for radials, and unless your going to a radial specific race, don't count on the prep being good for a high powered radial car because that creates a surface that (generally speaking) now won't work with a slick.

That's good to know. They do some pretty decent prepping at our track on test n tune night, although I dont know if its specific to anything. I'll just have to see how these do. Go make a couple of passes on em and hope for the best. I've yet to run a slick on this car so if these dont cut it for me I suppose I'll be trying some soon. As long as I can squeeze a 1.5 60' out of it I'll be happy with it.
