Default 1/4 Time Question

Hey guys.

I am new here and I am hoping that I can get some input from the many experienced members of this forum.

I have a 2000 Trans Am with the following specs.

Engine: Lid , K&N Filter, Ls6 Intake, Plugs & Wires

Exhaust: Texas speed LT's,Catted Y pipe and exhaust

Transmission: 4L60e , 3.23's , Yank SS3600

Suspention: Subframe Connectors (The rest is stock)

Rims&Tires: Nitto Invo's 275Front 295Rear on 18" C5 Wheels

Lastly, the car was dyno tuned by one if the few reputable tuners around here (I live in Canada) and made 351HP after the tune which was about what I expected.

Last week was my first time at the track and after about 4 passes I ran best of 12.90. I lost my slip but if I remember correctly my mph was 106-107 and my 60ft time was 1.9. One thing I want to add is that i ran with my TC on because there is no chance in hell of hooking up on my tires.

My question is the following: Is that time about right for my setup or am I somehow leaving something on the table?

I was satisfied with my 12.90 but after constantly reading some of the times for bolt-on TA's on this forum (lol) I am beggining to wonder.

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you run it with the TC off?

I ran with it on because my nitto invo's are trash. However i did forget to turn it back on once or twice after my burnout and I ended up spinning like no tomorrow and running high 13's.

Quebec. I went back today and pulled a 12.85 @ 106 with a 1.9 60ft

TC makes a big difference. IMHO the key is to get the 60' down (which the TC limits of course) and then the rest of the run will take care of itself provided you make power. Our bolt-on C5 makes 372 to the wheels and has gone a best of 11.58 with a 1.50'. Pick up some drag radials and I bet that thing could slip into the 11s if you get good air and near sea level DA this fall.

agree with tar heel car has the mods to flirt with the threshold of high 11's low 12's except tires , get some MT et streets or Hoosier QTP's , wait for some cool weather which you should see in the next few weeks , remove the front sway bar , flash the stall from idle and let it eat - it will run much quicker for you...

1st things first, get some ET streets on that bad boy and youll see a big improvent on the 60' and the 1/4 ET. You running in "D" or Overdrive? Where is the car shifting? May be able to modify shift points a little to keep the car in the power range.
