Default Trying to make the most of the last test n tune

Well this trip isn't going exactly as planned. My 17" et street radials had some severe cracks along the sidewall/tread area. So I had to throw on my dark stars for next year with 28" tires (adding nitrous over winter). More sidewall but losing the gearing that was about perfect. (M6, 4.11s, 6700 redline, trapping 121 @6500ish).

Im still on strano springs and kybs (getting vikings over winter). Front shocks are set to 1, rears are set to 3 for now.

Tires are 295/55/15 et street radials, will drop down to 16 psi.

Front sway bar is out. I wasn't getting much for weight transfer before, hopefully this helps.

Im really just hoping to get a 1.7 60ft. I touched a 1.8 on the 17" radials before, but missed a gear on that run. Usual track has crap prep, going to Summit Raceway Park for the first time finally.

Last trip out, only got 2 runs in, first spun pretty bad. Second run I did a better burn out, tried to slip it out from 3500ish rpm, bogged down to under 2000. Finally hooked but it almost died. Im going to try around 4500-5000 and slip the clutch a bit this go around.

I trapped 96.6 in the 1/8 and 121 in the 1/4 before with the 26" tires, how badly are the 28s going to affect me? Any more tips, or changes I could make before I go?

No.

AC is out, rear seats have been out, spare/jack have been out. Sparco torino seats. Car weights ~3410 with a half tank with me. Probably 3630 race weight. I will reweigh it at the track.

Sell the 295/55/15s and buy some 28x12.5x15 ET street bias plys if you plan on staying stick shift, youll be a consistent 2-4 10ths faster in the 60' than radials unless you get really good at slipping your clutch and can afford buying and installing them, radials and a manual trans are not good friends haha, you either roast em on a dump or ride the hell out of your clutch for a lucky 1.6-1.7 pass every now and then between several 1.8-2.0s versus 1.4-1.5 being your awesone runs and 1.6-1.7 being your bad ones on bias plys

Once the nitrous is on, Ill invest in another set of wheels and get some bias plys. Im more bummed about losing out on the gearing going up to the 28" tire.

Down to 16? I used to run 17" Nittos and I would put them at 14psi cold. Used to cut consistent 1.8's with a best of 1.74 at full weight.

I would try to go a little lower in tire pressure. No front sway bar helps a ton. I don't see why you shouldn't be in the low 1.7's to high 1.6's.

You should pick up some ET, but might lose a little MPH since you're manual. But races are decided by ET, not MPH!
