Default Full exhaust or dumped

Had a local exhaust shop do a true dual set up dumped right at the rear end. After installing the 9" the exhaust hit and cut it back. Now I am debating on doing a y pipe and dumping it to gain a little clearance or run a y pipe and go over the dif. The car doesn't really see much street time. Wanted some opinions and possibly pictures of your set ups on street/strip cars

I run a TSP y pipe to single over the axle to single in single out Flowmaster .The exit out is just an elbow to turn down. It all clears my 9" fine.

If it's just a race car do 4" single to the rear and dump it or leave the dumped duals. I've got a 4" over the axle with a dyno max bullet and a magnaflow it's still to loud since I drive it on the street but if it's just a race car I wouldn't want the weight of the full length.

I've ran open headers to short pipes with dumps...I like the tail pipes on so I don't get so many fumes in the car. (headaches)
Now, I tested all 3 on my car...maybe .15 MAX difference with full exhaust to open headers and everywhere in between with my 2.5" Flowmaster system....I guess it's up to you really. (depends on how fast your car is)

This is my set-up, 3 1/2" to H-pipe to Borla XR-1 mufflers dumped in front of axle. I use the MWC dual exhaust crossmember with tunnel mounted torque arm. Haven't got a pic on the car yet

Here was my setup from a while back. It is a 4" y-pipe, with borla xr-1, then turned down.

Here is what that setup sounded like: (370ci LQ4, 9.0:1 CR, 380whp)

ORY of your choice, dual 3" in/single 4" out flowmaster merge, 4" pipe back to over axle bend, 4" e-cutout (or neck it down to 3.5" to save some $), neck it down to 3" over the axle and run a quiet catback like an SLP dual/dual, hooker, or even stock. Best of both worlds, and the weight won't make a big difference - a tenth or so tops

I have something similar. Only problem is the 4 inch electric cut-out leaks a little and make a horrible buzzing sound closed. I don't think that you can find a 4 inch cut-out that doesn't leak. I think that I will ditch the cut-out and run 4 inch over the axle and Y out two tail pipes since I have a TA. If I had a Camaro I'd would do a single 4 inch over the axle and hidden tail pipe. Yes it's more weight but you're getting the exhaust out from the bottom of the car which make for a quieter street car. If it's a race car then I'd would just dump it.

That sucks that yours won't seal. I had a DMH 3.5" a few years back on another car and it was perfect. Dave's a good guy and helped me with a 3" of his I bought used on a car before that and even warrantied that used one.

If it was mine and it saw more track time than street I'd pick up a pair of loudmouth 2's and dump them near the axle.

This is how we did it. If its a track mostly car that is. The cone inside kills the ice pick in the ears effect. I believe they are dyna techs. Schoonfeld makes another set that will fit in the header collector tubes also if you want to quiet it down a little more. These are 3 and a half. They are hooked to the back of some Kooks long tubes. Just a suggestion.
