What does your car run off the street?
Wondering what some of your cars with motor work run straight off the street? I'm talking about no adjustments at the track except for the rear tires. Racing the car in a condition you could drive it for 100 miles excluding slicks. Just curious. I'm really wanting to hear from you guys with full weight, sway bar on the car, stereo, etc, but if it's gutted specify. Anybody runnin low 11's with just heads/cam, bolt ons and tires? No skinnies or any other drag tricks. I'm wondering if that is a good goal to set once I do heads and cam. Car would be lowered a4, probably descent stall, system in the back, full weight, with some et streets.

Sounds like someone is about to get busy. I too, am thinking about a heads/cam combo also.
Good to see you Sunday night Joe. Good luck with the Formula.

Re: What does your car run off the street?
What, you mean people do stuff at the track to make their ET faster? I only care about what I run "straight off the street". 12.39 is as good as it gets right here with 405rwhp...on tires I daily drive, in a car that I autoX in, with whatever gas is in the tank (full tank, half tank, whatever) with a M6 and stock rear end. I do check my tire pressure to make sure its ok tho.
Wonder what my ride weighs
If I whored out my car and put an A4 in it I bet I'd be laughing at 12's and running 11.2 or some crap, but who the heck wants an A4 and a whored out car? NOT ME
Plus I can honestly tell people I run 12.4 and then beat em on the street even if they run mid 11's. ET's mean jack squat off the track.

Rear street GSC tire adjustment to 18 psi is an 11.90 at 114.25 leaving off idel, then if I uncap the cutout it, it runs 11.82 in change.
2000 Camaro SS Lid Filter, cutout, LS6 cam, LS6 intake, 3600 Vig stall #7 pump, MAFT, Ed Wright programming.

I live about 80 miles from the track, and on numerous occasions, ahve driven it to the trank, with my skinnies (165 metric) & Et streets, blasted off some 11.5 runs & drove it home. weight around 3200-3300. All bolt ons.

Re: What does your car run off the street?
see sig
Almost fully optioned car (no leather or TCS), full street trim (including spare tire, jack, stock chrome wheels, etc.), no weight reduction at all, on ET Streets.
Oh yeah...just a few bolt-ons too.

So nobody is running low 11's on a daily driver heads/cam combo with only a tire change? I was wanting something like this if i go f0r heads/cam. I'm talking about NOTHING done to the car different than every other day of the week except some tires int he back. I would just want to drive it all week and occasionally drive to the track, throw on some et streets, and run low 11's. Would that be a high goal to set?

Re: What does your car run off the street?
I've driven to the track and just emptied the trunk of my laptop and other junk and aired the ET Streets down to 15psi...
Went 11.15 first pass after fixing the converter.
With new pcm tuning, and a little more weight reduction I think I can run 10.8's in street trim thru full exhaust.
I went 11.7 last year in street trim with a mild combo.
I'm at 3650 raceweight now. I'm shooting for 3500 raceweight before the beginning of racing season.

Re: What does your car run off the street?
When I still drove around on Nittos, fresh off the highway with the cutout shut I'd run 11.30s all evening long. Then I'd slap the ET Streets on, open the cutout, and run 11.1s no problem.
That was about the level of my track prep, changing the rear wheels/tires.

Re: What does your car run off the street?
I drive 110 miles to Cecil or MIR on drag radials. The rear tire pressure is let down to 15lbs and off to the tech line I go. My main goal with this car was mid 11's in stock appearing trim, full interior, stock rims, full exhaust with cats on drag radials. I have removed the front swaybar but I installed a 6 point rollBAR. Raceweight is 3580 lbs. Major mods are 216/220 cam, local mildly ported heads, LS6 intake, TTS headers, Mufflex catback, SY3500 convertor and 3:73 gears. The last two trips to Cecil I ran 11.60's at 116-117. I love my car.

Re: What does your car run off the street?
12.3 right off the highway and onto the track with runflats.
12.1 with Nitto Drag Radials
I'm hoping to get my sixty out of the 1.78-1.8 range and into the 1.6 range.
Once thats accomplished high 11's.
