Re: Updated!!! Thunder Racing Southern Style EFI F-Body/Y-Body Shootout rules...
I did my research and it looks like the average curb weight of 4th gen F-bodys is around 3400lbs without driver... add a 150lb driver your at 3550.
I'm thinking that the modified classes should be raised to 3500lbs with driver. Most if not all will have roll bars adding weight that is removed with spare tire and jack.
What do you people think???

Joe, the rules state [quote]factory type EFI( no aftermaeket DFI's)

Does this hold true for the Pro Street and Outlaw Street classes? A lot of the quicker cars run aftermarket EFI.
thanks

Well it's official.... We're racing November 2 at No Problem Racway near Baton Rouge, La.. Corvette's are also going to run. It will be a few days before the Y-body classes are defined... I want to do some research.

Guys you should have the ci limit set to 360 IMO
Also I have a 200R tranny with OD but no transbrake. Does that mean I am allowed to compete in the modified automatic only? What about cutouts etc? Are we allowed to run through cutouts?
Thanks again,
Chris

Interesting, we may have a few to run in these classes.
Joe, does this mean we can run a 400+ small block with sb2 heads, maifold to handle a t-body and a DFI system in out law? Are these factory based engines or just samll blocks in general? We have a local one that runs 8.70's NA @ 3200lbs, not very fair for the Ls1 or LT1 guys/ just a thought.
Thanks

Re: Updated!!! Thunder Racing Southern Style EFI F-Body/Y-Body Shootout rules...
Nick I might be wroung but I think the 10.5 inch (no W's) tire and 3200lbs will level the field in Outlaw. Remember.... The springs and shocks have to be in the stock location.
There's always gonna be one or two cars that have a different way to do things but if you can't get it to the ground the extra horsepower won't do you any good....
I hope you guys come down because I want to see you kick Tim's a$$.

Nick the Vette rules are being worked on and will be out soon. The Vettes are light and some thought will begivento keeping classes and weights even up.

Re: Updated!!! Thunder Racing Southern Style EFI F-Body/Y-Body Shootout rules...
Modified Street...400 ci max. (no big blocks), 3400lbs min. Any tire 10.5 sidewall designation on slicks.... 11.5 sidewall max. designation on DOT (ET Street, Quicktime pros etc.)
No power adders
factory and aftermarket ported heads ok
Any cam
Any factory type trans
Joe why does this class have a 400ci max? Some people don't want to race in the trans brake 3200# class just because they have a 422-427.. This looks like a great class, not alot of stripped cars, but it almost limits to the 382 cars & Tom. Is there a specific reason why it has to be 400ci max?

Jason the only way you can class these cars is by displacement and weight. The line had to be drawn somewhere.

Congratulations to the person/persons who wrote these rules. For the first time I see no bias toward anyone or any car.
Now we will find out who the REAL engine builders and REAL nitrous companies are. I welcome the challenge
Count me in on any "pot building", side-bets, etc.
