It's too big of a job to give a step by step how-to, but...

Get yourself a Helms factory service manual for your car, as it would be very helpful in this department.

In a nutshell, you'll need to remove the plastic upper dash piece (lifts right off), drop the steering column down out of the way, remove the radio and disconnect the wires/dampner cable from the AC control panel underneath the radio, and start removing tons of screws to get the dash loose.

After you wrestle it out of the car, the airbag should be right in front of you, along with the heater core and accessories. The heater core box is bolted in from the inside of the car and the engine compartment.

It's a real pain, and it's a lot of work, but you can save a few pounds, and free up a lot of real estate under the hood (no really "useful" room though). You'll need to fabricate some kind of panel to cover up the huge hole in the firewall, too.

Here's a pic of my car when I was removing all that stuff...

Yep, bring your lunch. We did it last week and it was a pain in the a$$. We removed about 75#s We kept the drivers side air bag. No problems changing those plugs now with our easy access panel <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

Heater core, all ac controls & ducts, radio & anything that was not nailed down. The pass. air bag will stay in the dash until you get the dash out.
