Lightweight race battery?
Anybody running a lightweight battery in place of the stocker?Looking to shed a few pound's.
I was thinking of the Dyna-Batt battery on www.thunderracing.com it only weigh's 13.5 lbs.
Any concerns on running this battery on a street car?Cold start's etc.?
Thank's
John

I have had a Dynobatt in my car for about 3 months now with no problems. You have to remember NOT to leave things on after you shut the car off, but so long as you do that, you should be fine.

I will look into the Odyssey that Colonel mentioned.
Firechicken WS6,
I think the stock battery weigh's around 35-40 pounds.

Re: Lightweight race battery?
Yeah, I killed my Dynabatt. Actually the damn Chevrolet dealership did when they put a screw through my amp's remote lead wire!!
They told me to come get my car (have it towed to my house) because it wouldn't hold a charge because of a mistake in some of the aftermarket wiring. After about 3 hours of tearing through my wiring I check the blue remote wire from the head unit to my amp discover that the morons had put a sheet metal screw right through it. I was real happy when they wouldn't buy me a new Dynabatt after it wouldn't hold a charge because they left it drained for a week!
Sorry, had to vent!

Anyways I think I'll try the Optima battery Colonel recommended this time.
