Default HP limit on LQ4/ LQ9 iron block? How far have they been pushed?

I have a LQ9 block that is not filled. 4.030 bore for 408ci. I'm curious the nitrous limits on this block. On a 400 shot its around 1,050hp on the engine dyno. How far can I push it before the block fails? 1,150hp gonna be ok if I spray more?

Well Ray Bulach pushed the 6.0 block pretty far (blue t56 turbo camaro). It was over a 1000 rwhp....

1000rwhp has been done plenty of times. I'm not sure if a big hit of nitrous is more destructive than boost though.

Usually you are going to lift heads before you damage or deform an iron block. Even with 3/8" ARP studs.

I have standard size ARP head studs. Do you feel that at 1,150hp on the engine dyno it is at risk of lifting a head?

I could say with certainty that it is at risk. Now whether it does it or not will remain to be seen. 1150 hp is no joke on 4-bolts.

I'm in a fist fight with a 4-bolt motor right now myself. But I've got some tricks up my sleeve for the next round.
