Pepper runs a new BEST.
It is not hard to get 300+ pounds out of a car.
Kmember, A Arms, AC and PS = 100pounds
Lightweight Battery: 20 pounds
Lightweight pin on hood: 35 pounds
Carpet out of the car: 41 pounds
Pass airbag: 15 pounds
Foglights, EGR/AIR Cruise: 14 pounds
Pass seat, back seats and belts: 51 pounds
Under dash panels: 4 pounds
Jack/spare: 34 pounds
No catback: 50 pounds
TOTAL: 364 pounds out of the car without removing bumper supports front and rear.
That doesnt factor in the lighter converter, lighter weight of headers over the stock manifolds, lightweight drivers race seat OR Counting LIGHTWEIGHT DRAG WHEELS AND SLICKS: (Another 70 pounds total lighter for the wheels and slicks alone)
It is VERY easy to believe when you start with a car with a weight of 3380 pounds STOCK weight.
Add back in the weight of the cage (65 pounds) and you are right at 300 pounds out of the car.
3080 pounds without counting the weight reduction from the lighter converter, drivers race seat, headers, etc.
PLUS he has done some bolt shaving etc as well plus other **** I can't recall.

Thank you BOB!
Man, I am glad I did not purchase those Wal-mart straps. So i need 10000 pound straps. Four of them. And some axle straps for the rear. I'll try and find them in the A.M.
I sure dont want to lose the pepper off the trailer somewhere between here and San Antonio!
Again, thanks for the info.(sincerely)

John, If you have the PA racing K-frame and A-arms you'll need axle straps for the front too. Jegs has some real nice axle straps with a protective layer of fabric so the strap doesn't get cut. Check out page 116 in the Jegs catalog and there is everything you should need rachet tie downs and all.
I also criss cross the front straps. Its a LAW in PA to use 4-points for tie down. 2 front and 2 rear. Good luck and congrats.

AMEN!
I find it MUCH harder to believe some of the ballooned out raceweights posted, than some of the lighter ones.

Look at the base weights for Z-28 hardtops and Formula Hardtops. I cant help the fact that you bought a heavy TA pig

I can definitely see a raceweight of 3200 pounds for a Base Z-28. The TA's are heavy pigs LOL.

I was inncorrect on the weight of a steel trailer.
I checked 3 companies.Anywhere from 2000 to 2700 for a 18X8.6...Aluminum is only 950 to 1200.MUCH easier to tow and NEVER rusts!!

2. Man there sure are some light cars out there. BTW, my car was 3320 minus the jack/spare when it was new. Seems I am not the only "lite car" out there. Some folks have big bucks they can spend on parts and motors.... other blue collar folks like me have to find other ways to go fast. I dont see why folks who use the lite weight route to go fast are any more illegitament then the folks with deep pockets. You use what you got. Some folks got money... some folks got wrenches. Some folk got both... I just wish I was in the "both" category.
So I have lost about 300 pounds of stuff off the car. Maybe more if you add in what i added to the car. (cage, SFC's)
3. Steve, the rings I am using in the pepper are Total Seal gapless rings. Same as you...right?
4. Thanks for the kind words amigos. Some of y'all are very kind....again THANKS.
Campbell
