This car belongs to the Emmon's family here in Houston. They have several Stock Eliminator cars. The last time I saw this one, it still had an LT1 engine under the hood and had run a best ET in the 10.80 range. It definitely gets UP!

Hey Tony, not to nit-pick, but are you sure THAT is the car that had an LT1 in it? Reason I ask is both the tail lights and the nose of the car seem to indicate it is a 98+ WS6.

Yeah , that is a pretty incredible pic. I was there that night also and saw the run. It was a sight to see. I got ready on the next pass with camera in hand and he definitely yanked the wheels up again , but nothing like that previous run. I think he got walked by a TT Supra on the pass. Those boys can drive.

The 98's, including reskinned 93-97's, were required to run LT1's per the NHRA in Stock Eliminator. A guy running D/SA clarified that on a thread a while back. Not sure what the "political" reasons were for that. So, it could be a "98" with a LT1. I think the NHRA called these made-up versions "WE6's" vs. our WS6's.

Geocites didnt seem to like the traffic it got earlier. That was the time brooke ran this car and ended up beating him later down the track.

That emmons car is bad. I saw it at hrp sunday at the test and tune. I even caught one of the runs on tape. Yep it was a 10.80 but that damn thing sure looked like a 98+ TA from the front also. Car sure is a crowd pleaser though. One of the biggest wheelstands Ive ever seen!

Someone emailed me another badass wheelstand picture! This is the same setup, an LT1-powered 4th gen with a newer body style:

I like the emmons pic better, the shiny side is cleaner to look at
