So I'm prepping the rest of my car to run sub 11.00's mid summer and I'm wondering about seats. I'm pretty sure I read some where that a 5 point harness is a no no with stock seats. Is this true and why? If I have to get a racing style seat what and where should I be looking at? Any insight you guys can provide would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah I think the 5 pt harness doesn't work so well with camaro seats, but it works fine with my stock transam seat. I just put the top 2 straps through the extendable headrest.

I've seen a few use harnesses with stock seats, always look wrong and unsafe, even with the trans ams, no offense to above. Did some research about em when I installed mine, pretty detailed on how they should be set up to really work right and be safe. Check out schroth racing site and videos in set up. I have race style seats with holes and a 5 point. Do u have a cage? Mine are mounted to the roll bar, wraparound.
