Default Shooting for 12's on street tires

I've gotten 12's on drag radials, but I feel like I haven't accomplished much unless I've done it on street tires. The track I run at is slightly uphill, and usually has a DA of 2500'. I've attached a pic so you can see. Needless to say high trap speeds don't happen. Track prep is decent. I need to know what rpm to launch at. I'm thinking 1300rpm, getting off the line and rolling into the throttle. Then again I suck, as I've only gotten 2.2 sec. 60' times. What rpms do you leave at, and what is your best 60'? Car is an m6

With 408 rwhp on street tires I'd basically come off idle, see how that does, then adjust from there

Forget improving your 60' with street tires, you'll spin in second. What do you consider high trap speeds? I predict 13.8 Sec @ 115 MPH.

Wow, nice times. I have the same tires. Mine are 315 (ZR1 rims). I didn't know you could run them at that low psi?

I've run faster then that before on street tires (13.2). High trap speed would be 116 - 117, but as shown earlier, the track is uphill, so I trap around 113. Stock ls1's trap around 102-104mph there.

I've ran them as low as 18# at the track and high as 30# which is how I drive it to track 21 seemed to be what did the best for me. I air them back up before I head home but I have had to drive back at 20psi before my air tank leaked down. Those tires are great I love them. I think with I little more time at the track on them and u'll get what ur looking for

a4 stock stall, but yea a 1.9 60 would be great - i know i can get that with dr's leaving at 17-1800, - at least these bfg's are night & day from the sumi's though so possibly a 2.0 at least tonight, & with that 20lbs off the front end with lightweight battery we shall see i guess. i'm debating to take my front sway bar off or not, as i've read it's 15 lbs less weight up front & also assists in launching/weight transfer.

horrible night last night ... best i could cut was a 13.68 with a 2.2 60 ... ran a 13.7x with a 2.1 60 ..... 3 other trans ams also there 99-02's - one with fast 92, Lt's & full exhaust with dr's ran a best of 13.4 ... another guy fully stock formula 02' but with toyo dr's best time was a 13.6 w/ 1.9 60 ft, so heck i guess i did alright compared to the other trans ams/formulas there actually ... but i'm thinking with dr's i would have cut at least a 1.9 60 with a 13.3 et ... don't know what was up with the guy that has the fast 92, Lt's & dr's, ... it was 90 degrees outside .... but basically lesson learned for ME PERSONALLY at least is no dr's = waste of my time. i'll be going back with hoosiers nothing less.

Always look at the DA before you go. 90 degrees out sucks! Surprised you didn't get a better 60' with DR's. Then again I only got a 2.0 sec. 60' on DR's, so I can't really say much.

Denom with a M6 you'll do a lot better with a bias ply over a DR. I've gone 1.81 60' leaving at 3500 with M/T ET Street bias plies with room for much improvement. Even M/T recommends bias plies for manuals. Check out this Super Chevy article.

The Mickeys are DOT rated but not really a good street tire like a DR would be.

...no i was on street tires ... i was just saying there was another bird with dr's - "one with fast 92, Lt's & full exhaust with dr's ..." , & here i was just saying if i had dr's - "i'm thinking with dr's i would have cut at least a 1.9 60 with a 13.3 et ... " - sorry for any misunderstanding !

Hey, the track won't be open until Late July. I will go there then. Hopefully the track prep will be decent. The DA is gonna suck.
