Now Im thinking maybe it was shifting hard for other reasons. Gonna dump all the new fluid and see if there's material in it. If not I'll do all new harness and solenoids, if so, out she comes, again, and over to the shop for a rebuild

Ooops, not sure why I didnt add the weight there, added it there. Was #3002 on that run. Should be below 3K now with the headers instead of manifolds/cats and much smaller/lighter converter

That's bad luck, depending on how much you're willing to spend RPM Transmissions are great. They aren't terrible for the price and they can take a hell of a beating. If the transmission I have breaks, I'm going to RPM for sure. How'd the fluid look if you've drained it yet?

Got a good stock unit to throw in for now with a shift kit and servo while the other one is getting built. Ive learned so much in the past couple of weeks about automatics its disgusting.

Jeez, its taken 4 months for me to just get around to installing the shift kit. I ended up throwing in all new electronics too. Drop old tranny out tomorrow and take the verter to get cleaned out. Its tough when you typically have an hour a day to work on stuff.

Ive done a lot to our CJ5 lately, all it needs is brakes bled to be back on the road. It'll be nice to have both projects running again. Side note, my G8 went 13.73@102mph, so nearly as fast as this thing at stage 1 lol. All it has is an X pipe and OTR intake, 4132 race weight, full tank and me.

So, you read all this stuff about how amazing a converter is in an auto car, I never believe hype typically, but thats not hype. 1st gear is 100% useless with street tires and she pulls like my cam only M6 cars! Got to put the radials on to even tune WOT stuff, absolutely incredible! I definitely need a circle D for my G8 now

Stalls make a night and day difference, completely worth the $$, glad to see the progress on the car.

Gonna do some lunch time tuning this week with this addition. Feb. 28th is the day!! I'm planning to bring my 4.11 rear end with me so I can get a good base line with the 2.73 and then toss the other rear in it.

Stupid track is not opening this weekend due to not being able to perform all the winter maintenance. March 23rd is my next available date to give it a go

I meant to bring a camera to do some recording this time around but forgot them. Unfortunate for me the track was packed on friday which is not typical of the past few years so I only got 2 passes. Both of which struck me with zero traction...oh commerce, such a love hate relationship.

Pass one was a 12.46@106ish with pretty good spin and a slight pedal in 1st to get traction. Then it didnt shift in to 3rd (fist attempt to shift in to it and total guess on mph). Second pass I was excited since they came over the intercom to announce they were prepping for the slick tire lanes to have a go at it. So I figured the same burnout as last time (highly scientific 3 Mississippi's) and let her eat. I dropped tire pressure from 19 to 17 and changed my shift point for 3rd. Flashed to about 4300 and wham! Straight on the limiter, almost shifted in to 3rd, missed it by 1 mph, and went 13.5 @111 with a 2.6 60ft.

Heading back Friday with the same mods. I know it'll go 11's this way!!! Gonna do one big smokey burnout the first hit to refresh the rubber and get there early as the track is useless after about an hour. Hopefully the scales are on but if not I'll weigh it with my good ones again.

Oh how being first in line changes everything!! She went 11.78@113 with a 1.68 60'. It kinda bogged a bit initially which was to be expected with a 2.73. Next round of mods will be install 4.11, aluminum DS, and the ram air intake. Already knocking on the door of the top 50 bolt on list! New goal is top 3 for that list
