Whole AC and heat removed. Dash is going back in without AC ducts and pass airbag. The black ABS heat shield on the front worth keeping or unnecessary? Thoughts on anything else to remove while the dash is out.

If you're talking about the black rubber mat along the firewall, rip it out. That thing is heavy.

That's the one, will do. It looks like it could easily weight 30lbs.

Take out all the seat brackets and the seatbelt brackets. Take out the heat gun and scrape the excess seam sealer and the black matting stuff as well. If this is a hardtop car I'd look into minitubs and possibly cutting out the ttop wells and spare tire well.

You can modify the dash brace to take some weight out too. you could pull the door panels and take some weight out of them too.

Is a cage getting installed?

If so and this is a hardtop car I'd look into minitubs and possibly cutting out the ttop wells and spare tire well. you could remove door bars as well.

Maybe give us a more detailed wish list/plan so we can direct you better.

For the purpose of the car, street strip. Not my DD, but would be riding on cruises. 6pt cage is planned. No cutting of the tubs, spare tire well will house a bottle. I'm still in debate if this one will get the iron 6.0, the LS1 still runs strong, 130k mi. LT, ory, ecutout, Flowmaster to keep her quiet in the city.

I also have oe wheels reps, 555 in 275/315. Going with a loghtest set of v6 16s and a budget front runner? That should cut down 50 to 75lbs

Yea you could do GTO spares up front and base Camaro or TA 16 inch wheels. Scraping up that seamsealer adds up.

Sounds like you got much of the other stuff so now the money weight loss mods come

I have seen a set of stock 17 inch ws6 and a set of Camaro wheels narrowed and a heavy duty motorcycle tire used... Dunno how long the last but I do know they seem to support the weight well, no bulging, etc.

Camaro I saw narrowed the front, and used the fronts to widen the rear to a 17x10 so he could put a 315 tire on. Had to beat in the rear wheel well and cut the bump stops off but it looked right. Wheels were re-powder coated the factory grey, really nice looking

Lightweight setup for exhaust after long tubes? I currently have an e cutout, stock axle back to Flowmaster with dual out and some wonky looking tips

Answered my own question, 4in collector to a 4 in 4 out muffler turned behind the passenger side seat well. I won't have an e cutout, but it should be lighter and quieter with a muffler

For the time line on the build. 60e is out now, only cussed 3 or 4 times from the converter bolts.

All sound deadening under the dash is gone. Awaiting a AC delete plate to put the dash back in.

To fill the holes from the bolts, would RTV work?

Also installed a Chrs1313 ram air.

I've done a bit more research on cam kits.

SNS stg 3/springs/pushrods /LS2 chain and HV pump about the same as TSPs

Not much talk or reviews in the past few years on TSP cams being the current hotness, a lot issues with springs wearing fast.

I had that combo and I feel it didn't run well NA, it probably would be fine on spray though.

FWIW my car weighed 3240, MS3, LS6 intake, 4L60, SS3600, 3.73s, 1 3/4, 3in into 4in merge, SLP lid, FTRA, SD tune, LCAs with relocation brackets and PHB.

The MS3 can shine but I think it needs bigger stall and gears and be lightweight. Heads and Cam optimize it better. I just think there are better options out there...

SNS 3, BTR IV, Ed Curtis Streetsweeper or the EPS 234/246 are all good grinds

Trimmed up some of my excess wiring, ordered a ac delete plate and got my racestar 92s in, 15x5 and 15x8 set. The new wheels and tires should cut 100lbs from the total weight.
