Does my spoiler slow me down??? Please see pics inside and give opinion!!!
Would my 5.5" RK Sport spoiler cause enough drag to cost me any ET/mph in the quarter mile???
I'm wondering how much of an effect is has on high speeds too....I thought lift is what increases drag on a car, and if this spoiler pushes my car to the ground a bit, wouldn't that help reduce overall drag??? I'm trying to figure out if there are any benefits to this spoiler other than the handling/control benenfits I get at high speeds.

when that spoiler actually gives you the downforce, your not gonna need it. all that thing is doing is creating turbulence (drag), id take it off.

Any increased downforce like form your spoiler WILL CERTAINLY increase drag and slow down your overall top speed and possibly hurt your ET/MPH. Nascar regulates the use of the rear spoiler on the cars to SLOW THEM DOWN because they are too fast on some of the tracks with bigger straights. They do this for saftey reasons mainly. Anyways I think that answers your question

<img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" /> Take it off. It's creating Drag and slowing your down apart from other things.

Just my opinion, but I seriously doubt that spoiler is hurting et's/trap speeds any noticeable amount...

I'd think it would slightly affect both ETs and MPH on 100mph+ car but probably by less than .05 and .5 mph. Top speed would be diminished as well because it has an even greater impact at 150+. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Well, I did a few 55mph-155mph runs against a BPU supra with 380rwhp.....and I only put a few cars on him..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I'm wondering how different the results would have been without the spoiler! <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
