Stock Stall/Gear 60fts
Is it normal for a stock stalled/geared bolt-on car to not make it below a 2.0 60 ft?
on 4 passes on M/T et streets, dead hooking I was only able to manage a 2.002, 2.003, 2.005, 2.013
tried stalling up as much as it held and tried leaving from idle, all 4 passes yield about the same result
I was thinking the power just isn't there in the low end for it to do any better
also.. it ran 8.5 @84 and 13.2 @104
Is this pretty normal for mods in sig? Was hoping to touch 12s

The 60 itself doesn't sound that far off for having the stock stall , Quality stall will wake it up at least 1/2 second but you can also get a higher stall out of your existing convertor if you change your method especially since your on a sticky tire that should hold for you try mashing it from idle which will allow the stall to "flash" up to a higher point before it launches , my buddy went 1.9's on stock stall street tires with just a lid in his 323 geared stock stall convertible so you should at least be able to do that , 1.8/1.9 is about the best I would expect stock stall and really your 60's are all 2.0x or 2.00x so your not far off from sub 2.0's just need it to hit a little harder. Get it solid 1.9's and find a couple mph trap and it will crack 12's for you.

What was the DA for those runs?
I went from 2.1 on street tires to 1.92 on DRs, then some fine tuning and great air got me 1.82, but that 1.82 was with a negative DA. Also I'm running 3.42s.
I wouldn't expect that to be the norm though.

Sounds off to me for those mods to not be well into the 12's especially on 323's with a sticky tire long tubes, catback ,lid etc.. that 104 trap sounds like a stock trap for a 323 geared car , has it been tuned since the long tubes/full exhaust/lid ,etc.. ? what about maintenance items like air filter element , fuel filter ,spark plugs etc...

98 bone stock with good years and 2.7 did 2.0x and 13.5@105 last time I took it more than a year ago in the summer heat here.
Few days ago we took my buddy's 98 Z for a test with nitto 555r (stock size), long tubes, ORY, Yank SS4000, 2.7 gears to the strip. And got one run only with a crappy prep that night, pulled 1.8 12.5x@108ish
2.0 is normal usually for these cars

All of the mentioned maintenance parts are brand new, car was dyno tuned after the mods yes. I tried a pass leaving from idle but I think my foot was actually resting on the throttle just a little as I staged. I'll try to completely flash it next time i'm out at the track. Thanks for your input
I put et streets on my stock rims and it slowed the car down. The reason for this is the et streets were too much tire for 2.73s and a stock stall. My 60' times were 2.0 to 2.1.
So that's probably what you have... too much tire for a stock stall if your running et streets.
My remedy for this is I just bought a Performabuilt lvl 2 4L60E and an FTI 4000 stall with lockup. That should cure my problem!!

I had a 1.99 60' with stock tires, stall, and 2.73 gears. I dropped the tire psi to 22 that particular day with a negative DA. The other 60' were 2.0s. My best et was 12.89 @ 109.

Too much tire in the fact that it bogged down the car at launch. 0 spin. 2.73s, stock stall and it just wouldn't spin. You need a little wheel spin to get going. Oh well... Monday my stall is going in... that'll cure that issue!

Best I could get my full bolt-on car to run was 13.0 with the stock stall, drag radials and a 2.0 60' I have heard that the stock stall doesn't like sticky tires and will go faster with a little wheel spin. I have since added a 3600 stall and got into the 1.7's with my 60', 2.73 gears.
