This has certainly gotten off topic huh?
My car is a daily driver. It behaves like it's bone stock until WOT. Florida is a bit to far for a race, but I'd run ya once or twice with my work car.

Sorry this got out of hand, and Lynda didnt post it, Her husband did. First off i just thought it was funny you were talking about whoopin any LS1 without 450rwhp and no torque monster which ours is not.
Just for the record though, Our 01 Z is Lyndas only car and it has a removable side bar so she doesnt have any problems getting in and out even with high heels, It has A/C stock monsoon sound system and all safety features it came with from factory, it is far from a race car, It even has the baby seat in it for our 3yr old girl. Fear the LS1, hahah now that is a race car 29.5" slicks and solid roller, hmmm??? you are right we do switch to full slick at the track, but that will probably change soon, it was just the tire we got our hands on for cheap.
Have a nice day and once again sorry for all the confusion, i was just joking around in the first post, because of the comment you made, everyone needs to calm down a little.
And for those who said it, I would agree the 6-speed is funner to drive.

I actually have a very recent comparison. Just a couple weeks ago at California Speedway I raced a car with basically duplicate mods to mine with the exception of an A4 and a 3500 stall. Both cars were tuned by the exact same shop with the same tune. (He had additional tuning for shift points and what not) Both cars are right about the same race weight. I ran a 12.52 to his 12.49. If I hadn't tanked the 1st to 2nd shift (short shifted) we probably would have been dead even. If i cut a better light than .663 I would have won.
A well driven manual transmission can keep up with an automatic, but there is more of a human error factor involved with the manual.

I’m pretty sure Lynda’s car does not put down 450 rwhp.
As for the Auto vs. M6 discussion, I’ve had both (a ’99 Z28 M6 w/ 100 TNT shot that went 11.66 @ 122 w/ a crappy 1.8 short AND my current car in sig.) So you should know my opinion; M6 is more fun all around but if you want quick ET’s it is hard to beat an auto. Launching an Auto can be a lot of fun too! That in and of itself is an adrenaline rush.

Very good points by most, The auto is a little quicker(60') and the manual is a little faster (mph), but the auto will more consistantly put down the better ET. Thats why i like the auto. Both setup the exact same will put down close ET's but pass after pass the auto SHOULD stay more consistant without less of a chance of driver error, shifting or launching.

oh, and i've had both like Sean/01-Z
i was M6, then went TH400 with brake and huge motor stall, then back to built M6 setup.
going back was the best thing i ever did, i hated that stupid TH400 setup.
carrying the front tires a foot in the air while still spinning bad on 26" et streets in a six speed...my old TH400 setup has NOTHING on that for the fun factor, even off the Tbrake

All I will say is for a fbody there is no transmission that can compare to a Lenco 5 speed, yes a manual transmission. They have an insane clutch, are very light, don't rob HP from the drive train, and shift instantly without clutching.

There's also the Liberty's Equalizer:
And my personal favorite, the G-Force 2000 Clutchless:
Round for Round at the strip I'll take a auto any day. Except for the rainy days that I choose to put in a clutchless setup. For all around fun on the street, M6 hands down.

Lee would have been a good run prior to the FMS motor
