Default New mod!

Todd Smith gave me a great deal on a set of 28" slicks/rims. The rims seem to be 15x9 (5" backspace). The tires are MT 28x10.5". I did a little test fit and have about 3/4" of room in the front, and no room in the rear. I'm going to cut/move the rear valance to make some space.

My current steel rims/Hoosiers come in at 44# each, these come in at 33# each. I'm hoping the 22# rotating weight reduction and improved traction will allow me to sneak past 11.20.

The tires have seen better days, so I'll probably throw some 28x9" tires on the rims soon.

Hehe don't worry I'll borrow ET streets for bfield. I might be doing between round tire changes if I run in C3 also.

It took some work but I got the 28x10.5" slicks to fit. They are on 10" rims with 4.75" backspace.

I used a dremel to cut off a lot of the rear skirt, a 10# hammer to roll the fenders a bit, and some spacers to get the rims off the brakes. I also had to remove a few of the inside wheel weights...

Anyway they fit great now, feels OK at 70mph so I guess the rear balance isn't all that important. I'll be at Carlsbad sat shooting for mid 1.5 60' times.

out that much from the top of the wheel well(maybe 1/2"), but the tires come out at least 2". Looking at it, I think these rims on a 6" backspace would be a great fit. This setup was so cheap I couldn't pass it up ($200 for rims/tires/lug nuts).

Last time we raced I had quicker ET's both times. I'll be taking home the C2 trophy in April. For every dollar you spend in parts I'll spent two.
