Nice work man. I assume you bought a pre bent pre notched kit. Did it fit right up, or did you have to do a little fitting?

Nice!
I've had one for 3 years, never install it yet.
What did you paint it with?

Looks to me to be a six-point bar with a couple extra attachment points behind the seats and not a "cage" per say if I'm seeing the pictures correctly. That would be legal to 10.0.

Work looks nice!

That's what I was thinking. But on MWCs website, it claims a 8 point is good to 8.50. So I wasn't sure.

Yea that isn't an 8pt cage. That is 6pt and is only good 10.00.

A true 8-point cage will have bars off the main hoop that run parallel with the roof and then down through the dash normally connecting with the two sides bars near the driver's and passenger's feet. And yes, I do believe those are legal to 8.50 but must be certified.

That is a 8 point "roll bar", legal to 10.00 quarter mile. Only thing needed to make this 8.50 legal would be the a-pillar bars and roof halo, then it turns into a 8 point "roll cage"

Did you install this yourself? Did you drop the tank to weld in the rear bars?

The cage fit very well. We bent the door bars just a little at the floor to help it fit better. And cut about 1/2 inch off the main hoop bar to get it off the headliner. Other than that it fell right in. I painted it with VHT Roll Bar and Chassis paint. Two friends and I put it in. They build pro mods and are second to none at TIG welding! Im very well pleased wit it. No its no need to drop the fuel tank. Still a long ways to go!!

^ This. An 8pt roll bar is just a slightly stronger 6pt cage. But if you are not planning on going into the 9's it is a good option, since you wont have to hack up your dash at all to do the 10pt.

However... it is a lot of fun to go into the 9's, and even 8's. lol
