Default To cam or not to cam

I have ran a best of 11.51@116 back in Febuary of this year(top 10 stock internal list). Since then I have added a few things to my setup, but haven't ran any faster because the hot weather now. The corrected #'s for my times now in the heat show that I will run faster(top 5 stock internal) when the weather gets right again(winter).
Now here is the delimia do I wait for the cooler temps and get in the top 5 or put a cam in my car now and try for 10's cam only this winter? I have been thinking about this for a couple of months now and just can't decide. If you were in my situation what would you do? I need some oppinions please.

I would shoot for top five or better and then move to the cam,but thats me.After the cam I'm sure it will entail a learning curve.

I went through the same thing. Mine was a cam already but not ported heads. I now regret putting the 355 in the car. I should have went further to capture the cam only LT1 title. My advise would be get that thing to run as fast as you can with stock internals. Then go for the cam only title.

Just my input.

I don't want to put a bigger stall(4200 +) in it for a T-Rex or G5X3. I have a 3800 and like it alot for everyday driving.

Did you get 8.8 in ? Did it have any affect on your ET's ?
