Cage rules????
Last night at HRP I was interduced to a new rule. It appears that if your running faster then a 13.9 in a T top car you need a cage. HRP is considering T top cars as a vert. Can someone look that up? It dosent make any since to go too the track if I cant run faster then a 13.9. Expecially since they are faster then that stock.
Ive been going there ever since I got the car back in 98 and they have never told me anything. But the tech guy said that they are under new management and they have to inforce it.

Unless NHRA rules have suddenly and drastically changed, you should not need a cage. According to the NHRA rulebook, any convertible does need a cage if it running an ET below 14.00. However, a t-top equipped car should fall in the category of hard top and not be required to have a cage unless they are running below 12.00. This doesn't sound right.

The NHRA rulebook doesnt spell it out that t-top cars are considered verts.
It really is at the track's decision how they want to enforce safety rules.
With the recent string od wrecks and deaths, it does not surprise me.

They where quick to tell me last night. I figured he told me to slow because I ran a 12.00 but the next pass I went 12.5 and he told me to go talk to tech or stop for the night. I told him I was all ready on the brakes but he said I still needed to slow down, or add a cage.

That's pretty damn ridiculous if you ask me! If they're going to enforce that, it looks like the TNT nights will be left to a few hardtop f-bodies and C5's, and the remainder will be a bunch of ricers. I guess it's good that I'm planning on a cage!

What new management? You must have really pissed of the guy to tell you that. The only time that I have been told to slow down was when I started runnin in the 11's. I do have a cage now so they will stay off my back. T-tops considered vert?

I tryed to find someone else but I couldnt find anyone with T tops. They did tell a guy in a stingray the same thing.
