Best method for trimming the cowl?

Not very good pics but you get the idea. The cut away part of the cowl now bolts back in solid. The 2 tabs on the sides, and the wiper, make it hold solidly up top. The wipers go back and work like stock also. The welded on tabs underneath bolt it in solid. I've left it all removed while I do some engine upgrades. It has made working on the engine a heap easier.
It looks like an easy job to do in pics but it was not an easy task. Engine was removed at the time. While I was there i also set the engine back 1" further. (BFH on the L/H side of the firewall to clear the cylinder head)

Second throttle return spring can only do good things, think about it as motor insurance for under $10.
Lost a spring after a non-gearhead buddy helped with my car. 6k rpm at the end of my residential street was NOT cool. Found the spring hanging from the throttle and went straight to adding a second for backup.
