hehe yes

God love her!

I am looking hard at the following M&H Tire as well (If it turns out I am overgeared)

M&H J60/15, treadwidth 8.0, SW 10.7, Diameter 27.2, cir 85.4, Suggested Rim 7.0

This looks like it would be perfect for my combo. I have to try to keep up with Roman and Taner hehe!

Thanks Mike, Any plans to hit the track soon?

Sounds good Chris! What are you aiming for, 10.5x's @ 126+?

I won't be seeing the track until the Fall. I hate racing in this weather. It just ain't fun for me. Besides, this time of the year is my "make money time". So by not racing right now, not only am I saving money, but making it too!

I'll be beating fire outta my car come Fall! Gonna try for 8's on my 346 ci. then I'll be putting a 408 ci. over the winter.

You are in construction right Mike? Are things booming down there like they are up here in Canada? It is ridiculous the amount of building up here.

Good luck with the car, I think you have 8's in it

I would have done at least 4.30's, maybe even 4.56's. IMO gears don't adversely affect drivability in a 6pd much at all. If you need a few more mph just drag 4th gear out a little longer.

Maybe I'm crazy.

My car peaks at only 6000rpm and runs 124mph with 3.73s in the quarter. I have added cats (might lose 1.5-2mph) but the gears (4.11) should help make up the loss. Also I am projecting trap speed of around 122-125mph (depending on weather and if I powershift)

4.11s with a 27 inch tall tire take me through the traps at ~123-125mph@6300-6400rpm.

That is perfect for my current setup. (crossing the traps 300-500rpm past power peak.

Yes Chris, things are boomin, for my business anyway. The current shortage of cement is going to bring things to a screeching stop within the next month or so (Nation Wide!!) I'm trying not to think about what it's going to be like.

I have a line on cement for you. PM me and I'll give you the details/contact information. (I am involved in a large operation up here in Canada)

I assume your talking about trapping in 4th gear? I made a similar decision about the gears for my setup. I'm about to install a 9" Moser & figured out that 4.11s would put me at about 6k at 111mph with a 26" tire (in the low 12s).

Let us know how it works Chris!

yep always cross the traps in your 1:1 gear

I'll let you know how it works out. I am expecting similar trap speeds (where I have cats now) but ET drop of about .3-.5 with traction and good air

you replace tires more often you you replace gears if you race enough (and have a strong rear end.) Since it's summer time, you need more gear to make up for the power loss from the weather. When you wear out the 26" tires, move up to 28s if they fit. By then the weather might be better, so you'll make more power and need more tire to hook and so you don't over rev through the traps.

hehe that is exactly what I am doing The 275/50/15s I have now measure 26.5 (probably grow to close to 27 at the big end)

When they die I am going with the 27 inch M&H tires. They are a little narrower but should work better (better rollout, more sidewall, little taller)

Gears should be here the end of this week. Installing next week before I go to Halifax for a vacation
