Default My attempt at a single digit stick shift car

Last october I bought a 99 trans am as a project with the goal of going for the stick shift bolt-on record. As expected I did full suspension and bolts ons. Unfortunately the motor was fairly tired at 135k miles and at its second appearance at the track it spun the #6 rod bearing. At this point Id be damned if I were going to sink money into a stock rebuild ls1 to chase a record so I decided to do something with the old 50$ lq4 boat anchor I had laying in the shed. I had originally started the build planning to do a s480 turbo build but sure enough I fell into the old habits with laughing gas. I previously had a 02 ws6 on spray and a 01 z06 on spray. Thousands of dollars later Im in the home strait of what I hope will take me into the single digits as a stick shift car.

Specs:
370 lq4
stock crank
callies compstar rods
wiseco -11cc pistons (originally bought for the turbo build)
Tick ported oil pump
arp mail studs
arp head studs
slp under drive pulley
TSP 2" primary headers to 3 1/2 collector
Mamo motorsports 235 heads milled to 56cc to bump my compression back up to 11:1
yella terra roller rockers
custom grind cam from Tony Mamo
edelbrock vic jr
accufab throttle body
mezier electric water pump
c7r timing chain
Brian tooley chromoly rods
nitrous outlet stinger plate
monster stage 4 clutch
tick master cylinder
STOCK t-56
moser 9" with 4.11s and spool
bmr kmember
umi upper and lower a-arms
manual steering rack
umi panhard bar
umi subframe connectors
umi lower control arms
strano rear springs
qa1 adjustable shocks in the rear
qa1 coil overs in the front
umi tunnel mounted torque arm
MWC anti roll bar

I know I am forgetting some stuff. As of now I am not 100% finished so I havent started the new motor but I think I have a combination to make a 9 sec pass with enough spray.

DISCLAIMER: I KNOW IM NOT A MASTER FABRICATOR SO TAKE IT EASY ON MY WELDS

Sounds like an awesome build. Will you dyno the car ? I I'm curious to see how long the T56 last being stock.

I'm pretty sure that car should run single digits without spray. Especially at Atco in the fall.

Probably not, most of my tuning is done on the track and street. I dont imagine the t-56 holding up well if the car hooks up.

Love the enthusiasm but I doubt a stick shift 370 is going single digits on motor.

Check out thirdgenbum in the carbed section. He has a third gen carbed Camaro stick shift running 9.97 on motor
