Default 3.5" y pipe

Hello I just purchased some tsp 2" headers with 3.5" collectors. I wanted to see some 3.5" y pipes or full exhaust setups. Car is primarily used for track use.

I run Kook's 2" headers w/3.5" collectors. I fabricated and put together an exhaust system that you might like as well. I will post pics when I get home.

Mine is not a Y pipe but my tranny is out now and these are laying on the floor so here you go. Under $100 total investment, 2 4' sticks 3.5" pipe and 2 3.5" cherrybomb extreme mufflers. Only have 3 runs on car so no comparison between through mufflers and open header.

Well I just sourced the stuff to custom make a 3.5" to 4" Y pipe, bill was $130 from Summit and $75 for a merge on ebay. 3.5" merges are hard to come by. I ended up getting a Howe merge thats a 5" bellmouth exit and Im just gonna cut it back to where its 4". At summit I bought 2 long u-bends, two header slip connectors, two lap clamps, and one 4' piece of straight pipe. Should be making it within the week.

The simplicity of running dumps is always enticing. I just cant stand the noise in the car. Even just putting a 90 on the end and pointing it out under the rocker make a huge difference in cab noise.

As mentioned, for RACE only! Yes it's freakin' LOUD!
Lightweight also plays a big factor.

I have built a ton of custom exhaust over the years. Every single time I buy mandrel pre bends from summit. I select whatever brand bend is cheapest on their site. Lots of times its summit brand (obviously made by someone else). The merge I select was Howe Racing, a company ive never heard of. It actually all showed up today. I will be posting pics soon.

Yep, the cheapest mandrel pipe is the pipe for me.

This was done on my 3rd gen, so not to sure how much difference it is between a 4th gen

3" primaries into flowmaster 3"-4" y-colletor, 4" cutout reduced back to 3" to the catback

They dont make a 3.5" flowmaster merge, and that's what this thread is about.

Adding this:

Ordered up some random pipe pieces and clamps.

In this picture you can see the Howe racing merge, 3.5 to 5 inch, and my old 4" bullet muffler I plan on reinstalling.

This merge obviously was too big so I ended up cutting it back about 3 inches so it would mate up with 4 inch pipe.

Here is the completed Y pipe and merge.

Had it coated with high temp powder.

From another thread.

Quick Reply: 3.5" y pipe
