I am taking my TA to the track for the first time next weekend, so I want to "practice" launching on my 26" ET streets. I could not for the life of me get them to dead hook (and I didnt spray). I started at 15lbs pressure and worked my way down to 11lbs, I heated them up until I had smoke coming though the side windows ~10 seconds or so. Tried launching at idle, 1500 and 2200 rpms - still when I took off they would spin like a bitch for about 15feet and then they would hook.
I was getting so frustrated - what the hell am i doing wrong??? Any other tips. My damn DR's hooked better than these things do?
Oh, and I checked the rim, it is not spinning in the tire

i could never get et-streets or drags to hook at all. so...after trying them over and over my bud let me borrow his tires. they were m&h racemasters the musclecar drags 305/40/16 on lt1 rims. these tires took me from 1.8's to 1.5 60 foots on my m6 car. my front(stock f1 tires on front)came off the ground, these tires were 5-years worn out old and they still dead hook,i was also on a stock suspenchion(my tq-arm was ripped off the car and my drive shaft broke.). i now own two sets of them, the 305/40/16 musclecar drag and the 26x11.5x16 cheeter slicks. www.intercotire.com give them a try, you'll love them. i think m/t tires suck BUT people are cutting 1.4 60's on them, they seem to work great for some but like **** for others.you have to go with what works for you and m&h will work for you. goodluck bro.

Mine hook pretty good.Do a short spin in the water then pull forward and do your burn out in 2nd and do a good long burn out if it's a stick.I pull the wheels off the groung with my ET streets. You have the tires, take some time to get used to them before you give up on them.

I can't hook on the street with any tire.
On the street with ET Streets I would run them at 17psi and I would r up the motor and roll out fast. I could never floor it.
On Sunday over here I put down 250 ft of rubber with 28" et drags.

its not the tires its the surface. even on concrete a car making any power isn't gonna hook a 26" tire without prepping the surface.
i cut consistent 1.54's at the track on 26 et streets, best of 1.52 at north vs south but if i launch the car on the street forget it, leave rubber all through first and second.
