This one I have is pre-formed to the shape all ready. You put in a seal/ kinda of like double sided tape to make it water proof. You gotta wash race cars too you know!

I'm hoping there's allot more interest to come. At least I know it's in demand so far. I just got back into town, I'll start making calls tomorrow.

$250 for a 70# weight savings is affordable to me. I won't buy right away (need a rear more than lexan) but I wouldn't hesitate to pay 250 for that kind of weight savings.
Plus, I'd rather see if other guys bitch about them before I buy.

I would be very interested in replacing the back glass. I don't want the side windows to be replaced though. I would also consider the t-tops but that I'm not sure of.

I would love to replace the back (have been saying how much weight this would save "if only" someone made it) and the T-tops would really be nice also. It would all have to be a "direct" replacement....no hole drilling or anything...
What about the windshield? That would save some weight and wouldn't it stand up to rocks better?

I've already looked into these replacement pieces as they pertain to federal law. The windshield is the only piece that the feds say can't be touched "for a street car" in any state. What your state says about the other pieces is something each of you will have to check on. But the feds over rule the states when it comes to the windshield, it's the major part of the structure that keeps the roof from collapsing. You know the rollover test and stuff. T-Tops might be a possibility after these get rolling, but they would take some detailed design because the factory glass is built into them.

I would like a rear glass for my Bird. I haven't ever used the rear defrost so I would buy one if it would be a direct replacement and seal like the original.
