Their all about advertising optical clarity. Seems it might be everything but that.

From what I can tell if you look through the window straight on, its crystal clear, but as you slant it then it gets blurry, the steep rake of the windshield obviously makes it worse. Sitting in the drivers seat looking at the road is distorted, looking at the sky is clear. Standing outside the car looking down at the dash/seats is clear. Its like it gets distorted when you look off angle....

Thanks for posting this up. I don't have any of these windows but understand what you are talking about regarding slanted lexan viewing. Makes me want to leave my front window stock, but I need to remove weight due to adding an extra 100lb iron block.
I do want to do this to my back window since my entire hatch is crumbling due to the awesome fiberglass adhesive that GM used that eats through the fiberglass. Will have to throw the every bit of it in the trash along with my roof sail panel. Nice that they come tinted and no more heater grid to make window tint bubble up.

and does anyone know if they have the door glass in lexan that can be fitted in there and still work with power windows? The door glass looks heavy. Browsing summit im not sure on if their optic armor door glass is only made to fix it solid on the doors, which seems a bit difficult without door pillars.

Nice job and good to see it's not as fiddly as I thought! Here you'd need a race license/logbook/race car properly inspected to do the front window if driving on the road still.. which is why I'm considering doing it xD

Not sure if you just got a bad windshield or not. But the ones we had put in are crystal clear. No distortion what so ever. And just so you guys know. You can take them to your local Glass shop and they will swap them out pretty cheap. I'm pretty sure it was 80 bucks on the last one we had done for both windshield and hatch. Wish they had these when we built our car. We had to paint the edges and screw ours down. But it's even crystal clear. I wonder if you warped it a little putting it in. Or if you don't have a good cage in the car with no anti roll bar, you may have slightly twisted your Chassis a little, causeing the lexan to distort.

My windshield has a few blurry levels in it also. Doesn't really bother me since they are lower than my sight line. I was talking to a guy at the track and he actually took his windshield back out and put factory glass back in.

Or it might be worse. Im going to get the real thin 1/8" back one first and see how that is.

As far as weight I've heard 50/55 for the pair, probably estimate about half savings for each glass, so figure about 25lbs per one you install.

All optic armor windshields are like this. My buddy took his out because street driving was so bad. At the track it was tolerable and he said he'd do it on a track car in a second. but street driving is too difficult.
