Friend of mine took all the bracing out from the hood and it flops around quite a bit at highway speeds and above.
Please share some pics of the underneath and how you went about it?
I only took out about 1/2 of the bracing (~8#) and it is not too floppy. My friend took out all of it and the first time down the track @120mph we realized he ruined it (he has hood pins in the front and it bowed up so bad it scared him).
I did have to remove the struts as it wanted to buckle in half the first time I tried to close it.
I don't have any pics right now, but will take one. I used a cutoff wheel.

Cool Idea. I, like you, also do not take any corners. Just drag racing. So I have removed my top bar, and didn't even strengthen at all. Can still cut the sixty foots in my sig without any unusual chassis flexing.

I saw you removed your Borla cat back. I am thinking about ditching my SLP Dual Dual also. What did you replace it with?

3" Y to 4" merge and 4" Dynomax Bullet w/turndown.
Light, loud and deep (would never suggest it for a street application).

There is about 6lbs you can remove off of the gas tank if you want to remove your evap and charcoal canister. https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...uestion-2.html

Here is a picture of the "chopped up hood".

Woah you ain't joking about that! You can lose another 7-8lbs by going with "aerocatch" hood pins. Look decent and holds the hood down well.
