Me versus a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo ???
OK, here is my question, first of all, please tell me everything you know about the 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo..
Secondly, this jerk wants to bet me $1000 he will beat me in a 1/4 mile drag.
What do they run??
My car is a 98Z with H/C and spraying a 300 shot of NOS.
I run a 1.41 60' time and although the car hasd not been run yet with the 300 shot, I ran a 10.71 @ 130 with a 175 shot.
My car should run a very low 10 second pass with a shot at the 9's..
DO I have anything to worry about??
P.S. last question, is there anyway to formulate what my car would run 0-60 MPH??
This guy says his car runs 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and he told me that my car is nowhere close to that..
I agree, I am sure it is much faster than that..
Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

300 shot?
He will beat you unless you have that tuned in you need a whole lot of fuel pump and I dont' mean inline to run that much.
TTPorche is a very low 12 second car with a good driver. like 12.2@117mph I think? 2nd fastest production car behind Viper GTS?
You can beat him with your 10.7 setup.

Re: Me versus a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo ???
John, yes a 300 shot... I ran a 175 shot all last year and ran consistent 10.7X @130 on ET Streets.
I have a fully independent fuel system for my Direct port NX setup. The system was built and tuned by Cartek and it runs great.
I went to the track on Friday and ran the car on motor - 11.81 @ 116.
And believe it or not that shot is on a stock bottom end.
Julio at Cartek spent several days tuning the car on a dyno and wideband..
I know it won't last forever, but I have a 408 block waiting for me when it pops. In the meantime, I am going to see what I can get out of this stocker.
Low 12's will not be a problem, thanks!!

You know his car might not be that stock either.Their are some other hardcore racers out there that dont own an ls1.Just some food for thought.

If you are running 10's why are you worried?
Why the hell would you take a 2002 Turbo Porsche to a dragway anyway. I mean, the car was made for a road coarse.
Good luck, not that you will need any in a drag race or on a road coarse if he can't drive well.

BTW you don't have to worry I've raced my friends 2001 911TT from a roll 4-5 times and I would put about 3 cars on him every time (we raced to 120-130 mph) - so he went and bought a 2001 Viper, I could only get him by 1/2 car.

run the 175shot, no need to test the 300 shot on him , after you beat him up show him you didnt want him to look so bad and then run the 300shot if you desire

Re: Me versus a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo ???
thanks, I wouldn't have been worried, but I never met a guy with so much confidence!! By the way, this race is to be conducted at a 1/4 mile race track.
I think you have a good idea, maybe run best out of 3, first run on motor, see what happens, then maybe the 175 shot and we will end it with all that I got!!!

I would run the 175 shot and wax his ***. Dont bother with the best out of three crap and dont bother running on motor

At a local strip I saw a 2001 TT run a best of 12.2, bone stock. If you run consistent times, you should wipe the floor with his $120,000 car, assuming he is stock

I saw a Black one in E-Town last year running 153mph Had a Cage in it with tinted windows. He was granny shifting it to 10.00s. It was pretty funny
But if he claims 0-60 in 4.8 then obviously this guy isn't a real car guy.
Good Luck

Re: Me versus a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo ???
Hmmm...did it ever happen? Did he try the 300 shot? Did it go KABOOM!!!
My guess is it never happened. Very often people toss out big challenges like $1000 or more in hopes of scareing the other person into not racing. Strokes their little egos to have someone turn them down I suppose.
It's VERY unlikely that a 2002 Porsche would be modified enough to run low 10s, IMO.
