New 6-speed N/A Record - 10.67 @ 128.36!
Woke up this morning and checked HRP's racing schedule and saw that they had a National bracket racing event today . I figured I'd head to the track to get some shakedown runs with the new motor during time trials, then head home to party.
Damn, I'm VERY happy I went!
Since I pulled 497 rwhp thru the SLP dual-dual catback, I was very curious about how the new setup would run thru the muffler. So, I just swapped off my WS6 wheels and put my Draglites/Slicks on and made a pass.
10.87 @ 125.33 (1.51 60')!
1/8 mile was 6.94 @ 98.79
Through the muffler, over a half tank of 93 Octane, full interior down to the floormats (and CD case ). Raceweight on that run was 3680 lbs ! Met some new people from this site out there, so they got to witness my quiet Formula do a quiet burnout, yank the front wheels about a foot, and proceed to knock down the 10.87 on my very first pass of the day. I was stoked! Never thought I'd run 10s in street trim with a simple tire swap.
Okay, that was fun. Time to move on. I removed the SLP muffler, removed the floormats, and uncapped both of my 2.5" cutouts. Raceweight is now 3626 lbs. Very next pass, I ran my best of the day:
10.67 @ 128.36 (1.49 60')!!
1/8 mile was 6.83 @ 101.26
Narrowly beating the former M6 N/A record held by Jason Mangum and his 6-speed 422ci MTI T/A with a 10.69 ET (sorry Jason! )
Weather conditions: 78F, 30.11 inHg, 81% humidity
Density Altitude: + 1222 Feet
Then I ran a few more 10.7s with spinning 60' times in the 1.6X range. I figured I'd attempt some 10.50s so next I removed the passenger seat and rear seat (goodbye 62 lbs!) but only got in one pass before they shut down time trials. Spun really bad and ran another 10.74 with a crappy 1.65 60' time. . Greg video taped that pass though.
I'm still in shock that I ran two new best ETs to start off the afternoon, especially the ultra-quiet wheel pulling muffler 10.87, that was hillarious!
Next goal: First M6 to run 10s N/A on Drag Radials!
As Colonel would say, "now, its time to celebrate "

Very impressive considering your weight and weather! Looks like the extra power of the 434ci helped you off the line.
10s on drag radails through the exhaust would truly be badass.

Hey Larry, don't be making fun of my "small" 10x26" slicks! I'm not bad enough for 28s

Ahhh. two beers so far
I think I should keep my Racer X avatar. He is symbolic:
Racer X's car was also number 9
X = 10 in roman numerals. Get it? LOL!
I might go back to the track on Wednesday if I don't leave for offshore. Hopefully we can get some people with video camers out there! Roman, I'll try and get Greg (Fast4.8) to transfer my 10.7 pass to .mpeg for us. Hope he can do that!

Congrats Tony!!! Take some hints from Fluffy here and lighten that thing up.
10.50's are in the bag make it challenging and go for a 30!
Wish I could have been there, MTI does it once again!

Mickey, I hotlapped the car 5 times in a row, when I got back around it was my turn again LOL! The Cartek clutch held up flawlessly, no complaints in that department. T56 made it home in one piece, this particular one has lived over a year now and still doesn't grind (I don't powershift it).
Leo, 10.50s was my original goal, but I think that one might be unchallenging. I'll work on 10.30s after a lite diet. We still need to dyno tune the car also, I was supposed to do it today but the track was calling my name.
I know my goal of 10s NA on drag radials isn't going to be too difficult, I ran one 10.92 with a crappy 1.72 60' time today. EZ 60' to do on Nittos

Here is another tidbit of info. I posted my results over on the Corvetteforum.com like usual, and one of their moderators locked the thread because I do not drive a Corvette.
