Default What exhaust setup are you running?

Right now I have 1 7/8 headers into a 3" y pipe with high flow cats into the flow master merge then a cutout right at the I pipe. Thinking about running either Dual cutouts in the y pipe or possibly just running 3" true duals to mufflers dumped at the rear.

Why run dual cutouts? I'm just curious. My setup consists of 1 3/4" headers into 3" ORY, with a FM merge running into a Magnaflow 14419 bullet muffler in I-pipe section, then through a aftermarket catback

I am thinking that I might be able to pick up some power changing the exhaust/ just getting it out faster. Everything I am seeing/reading seems to point that way.

Gotcha. I was always under the impression that a single cutout was more than enough, and that dual cutouts wouldn't do much of anything. So you run 10.3 at 129 right now? What does your car weigh?

Yeah that is what I am not sure of. That's why I ask. Can you get too big? Just figured getting it out as fast as possible might be some gains. Car weighs around 3300 maybe a simpler exhaust would lighten it?

To be completely honest I'm not sure i'd mess with anything here lol. You car seems to run extremely well as it is for the mods and weight. From what i've seen seen running good 1 7/8" headers with a good y-pipe and proper merge, and a cutout right afterwards, is about as good as ot gets

After you go into a LS motor the 3'' Y-pipe becomes a restriction. If your asking for the setup in your sig you need to get the Y off ASAP. Duals dumped at the axle has my vote.

Has anyone seen any dyno or track gains? I looked but can't seem to find anything.

This guy went from 3'' Y to 4" Y. Duals would've done even better IMO. Read all of it not just OP.

You have more cubes and everything you will benefit greatly from throwing the Y-pipe away.

Your car does run awesome. My opinion would be to get the TD dumps. I bet you would gain & the engine will love it. Just a guess of coarse.

If you remember my car the exhaust has went through several changes. Going TD made it feel like a different car. Although I didn't have a cut out like you. Then going from 1 3/4" to 2" headers made many changes in the engine. All for good. Maybe the only negative is I have to get the pass. rear plug from the top now. The big pipes blocked access from under the car. No big deal

You do have a bigger motor with the 1 7/8" already. Maybe start with the TD. How much do you want to spend also. Good luck man.

^I agree. 2'' primaries would be good here too but the Y-pipe is the bigger concern to me. If you can swing doing both by all means do so. Texas Speed has pretty good 2'' headers and TD dumps.

Since you posted in the drag section, I assume you are looking for flow and light weight. 3" to 4" merge and a 4" bullet. Seems to work for me.

Yeah I've looked at 2" primaries quite a few times. Heck the motor was on the engine dyno with 2". I am still running the stock k member and not sure that they would fit.

That is basically what I have now just with cats and a cutout.

I have a aftermarket k on my bolt-on car lol if you work on your own vehicle it is one of the best mods because it creates so much room for activities and weight off the front is good too.

2'' primaries if you can and duals for sure.

Run the headers and nothing more and that will be the fastest if retuned for it. Least amount of weight, and it will be the least restriction, which is always fastest.
